for example

the last two mods sacked- orbit and torqez had to do it themselves.  no other mods fired them on their own

the problem is the mods arent regulated by anyone but themselves.  stefan is gone.  he doesnt care.  all mods should be voted in.  if that was the case then i think you would see less bitching or at least less justified bitching

i left the game because of a mod's actions.  now find me 1,000 that left because people used curse words in forums

Re: Official Politics Forum Warning Thread!

We debated on that topic with the mods/fmods yesterday.

There is no bias when it comes to blocks. I myself, have blocked strangers, people I don't care for, and friends alike. It's not always easy, but it must be done.

Start an idea thread. If there is a way to improve the mod selection, or enforcement of rules, or any other issue the community can think of, then start it there. We are open to ideas and change, contrary to popular belief.

i would rewrite rules entirely and spell out punishments.. we tried in think forum but it was shut down.  i would nominate zarf to rewrite all of them.

in addition every mod should be voted in by a majority of the player base rather than appointed by other mods.  this current system is bs and only leads to more biased people coming into power.

there is absolutely bias shown by the mods and fmods lol

loth has a personal vendetta against me for example because i said that he is one of the worst fmods ever which i don't think anyone has disagreed with

we tried to make changes to the rules in the think tank but that was quickly shut down and will never be revisited.

if this game was free and donations were actually considered donations in the true meaning of the word then i would say that the players have less support for bitching about how the game is run.  however, we all know that stefan has abandoned the game and the only changes made are made by other players that gracefully volunteer their time like pie and others.  the purpose of donations in a game like this is to put the money back into the game but we all know that that hasn't been done in the past many years.  therefore, the only reason people pay the vip price is to get the draft codes and few other perks that come along with it.  this game has thus become one that many people actually pay for to play rather than just giving donations out of their good nature and have every right to demand a more detailed rule set and some sort of consistency about handing out punishments.

i think most people including myself would shut up about it if the majority of players were allowed to amend the rules and some sort of appeals process was instituted rather than just relying on every mod/fmod to be impartial and construe the very ambiguous rules as they each seem fit with no sense of consistency

unfortunately most states have sovereign immunity for their public workers so probably nothing will come of it unless maryland is one of the states that has done away with their immunity.

not a lot of incentive to buy vip when it only takes one vip to post yamas and unexplored yamas and there is a cap for drafts.

extra stuff seems highly logical.

the greatest national anthem of all time- that of the USSR- plays when you click on a vip's empire or race link

agreed.  just stating another opinion big_smile

arby is suggesting something that many games like WoW and Lotro etc have already implemented so it's not unreasonable.  vip/donors are given an edge in the game and higher individual stats in just about all games that are termed as free play but allow extra benefits to vip accounts.  it's not a bad idea and would bring more money into the game.  whether more money into the game would actually change the current condition of things is another story however tongue

this is why i think zarfemon would be good to head up the task force to make editions to the rules currently in place.  at least he can respond and not dodge the issues

this might be guess but i think in norway its a sentence that can be life sentence but its reviewable after so many years to see if the person has reformed like they have in the US criminal system for certain felonies.  noir's mommy is a judge so he should know the laws there hopefully

however, he did laugh at me once when i asked him if norway had the death sentence.  they also probably have low crime rate because less immigration etc

p.s. i'm very disappointed in this thread after reading the topic and thinking it was going to be about abortion or something more interesting.

the problem pain is that the current rule set allows them to do anything they want and give no reasoning for what they do.  there was supposed to be a serious discussion in think tank about changing the rules but as expected the mods shut it down quickly and were unopen to the changes suggested. nothing in this game will change until the current team is gone and mods are chosen in a different manner

if they were serious about being fair then they would start up a seperate forum for it like they did for the honor forum and put someone in charge that can have an intelligent back and forth discussion about rules and policies like zarf
