There is one glaring error about my family though.... my neighbors suck LOL
Uh oh
17 has 2 koth planets now.
Hmmmm
ive taken out 3 in the last 24 hours myself ![]()
Im winning? Thats news to me
We got the best infra in the galaxy though. Broker deserves all the credit for that though ![]()
You have to control ALL of the koth planets in all 6 systems. Not just 1 in each.
@ICE:
there is no reward without some risk. 1 pop banker out of 5 bankers isnt that dangerous. Ill play those odds everytime.
I believe its the responsibility of the leader to promote a friendly teamwork oriented enviroment to play in. A good leader finds a way to achieve harmony amongst his family. Obviously there are douchebags out there that just wont cooperate. This is why we have the 'rogue' tag. This renders them harmless.
If you, as a family, cant work together to get rid of one guy then you have more problems than just an unruly player. Honestly i see no problem in the way we handle inactives and rogues right now. Maybe im desensitized having dealt with this issue for 10 years? Its part of the game. Deal with it ![]()
my intelligence is just a figment of your imagination.
Good for you CrazyPeter ![]()
My pvc was a snapshot in time so to speak.
im getting the impression you 2 dont like each other much
or maybe its just me ![]()
Just kill off your inactives asap. They dont care enough to play im sure they wont care if you kill them.
The faster you can kill them off the more likely it is that you will get a disgruntlred random (like generalskulls for example) who is active. Look at it as motivation to get rid of them ![]()
If you do that people will just kill each other first, then go for the KOTH planets. it will be nothing more than a HC galaxy. The KOTH set up will be irrelevant.
I disagree ICE...
Pop bankers are the best when the planets are few. CF bankers needs lots of planets to make good income. Your assuming that taking out your neighbors will be an easy goal to accomplish. LQs now hold 650, that alone makes it worth while to have at least one pop banker.
****** IMPORTANT ADDITION ******
In addition to the ingame NAP system being disabled, any out of game mechanics (ie ingame message) NAPs are declared as illegal for the purposes of KOTH and as such will be treated as an IA. Any violators will be blocked.
For once? geeesh
Oh! and hi bob
I just remembered i was supposed to call ya monday ![]()
call me later tonite
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! Glad yall liked it.
I tried to shy away from being negative and insulting to individual players. Ive seen too many PvCs that discuss people, rather than the entire map and how strategy will play out.
Ill do another one this round at some point.
1. Your family's races and roles should mirror that of a normal galaxy. You will need a good economy to fund the effort of taking those KOTH planets.
BANKERS: i suggest having 1 or 2 pop bankers because the round could last a long time. Nobody is gonna make a move on those KOTH planets anytime soon. Partaxians make decent pop bankers and you will want op/spell heavy bankers. I would avoid Revalon bankers due to their lack of control/info ops. Agent based custom bankers are also a good choice.
RESOURCERS: You will want custom resourcers with 100 Speed. Their speed will come in handy to help take and hold KOTH planets. They should be loaded with spells and agent ops and preferably a 50% magic bonus. You could sacrifice research for an attack bonus to help with attacks. the more empires you have with the potential to attack, the better.
ATTACKERS: With the round potentially lasting a long time research can be done slowly. You should have at least 1 camaar as your main attacker, probably 2. The 200 speed is just too valueable for getting to those KOTH planets and retaking them.
2. You still need to conduct wars against other familys. Your economy needs to grow and at the same time you want to stunt the growth of other familys. Space is at premium in this galaxy. The ring formation looks big, but there isnt that many systems to go around. Getting those systems at the outer edge of the map will be a smart move. There is alot of space between them and they could be potenitally hard to take away from you. Your gonna want a secure core and those are ideal.
3. Special Ops are gonna be one of the most important factors here. Every empire in your family will need to have key operations. Every non Camaar should have either Sab Portal or Create Portal Force Field. Its a long way to travel to bust those KOTH planets with fleet. Destroy Units is VERY VERY important here. Its quite obvious why.
4. Science will be important but can be invested into somewhat slowly if the round lasts as long as we predict. I suggest bankers and resourcers invest heavily into Military Science. It adds to defense and these empires could help hold KOTH planets. I notice alot of bankers ignore Military Science in normal rounds. Once your science 'maxes out' in the other areas why not research Military?
5. Build as many Defense Stations as your economy can afford. Obviously not right away. Elro touched on a good strategy of holding down the systems near the KOTH planets. These are good staging ground to launch your final assault for the KOTH planets. If you can manage to get a DS close to them and eventually move them into a KOTH system....nice ![]()
I hear talk of exploring the KOTH planets all at once. I doubt that is a viable strategy. It will take too long accumulate eships fast enough to try this. According to the set up i dont think the KOTH planets can be blown up anyways.
I say be brave when it comes to exploring a few KOTH planets. Some familys might try to avoid exploring them soon. There are some good resource bonuses in there and it might be worth sending a resourcer down there. A good laser trap early in the round might be a decent investment. Get a portal going early and you could take out any other invaders that try the same tactic.
Thats my 2 cents on the KOTH strategy.
where is who?
If a leader didnt include a name in his list of notable players, i didnt include them.
Sorry to anyone i left out ![]()
your leader did ![]()
Ok folks here it is. My first ever PvC. I want to state that all of the opinions expressed here are just that, opinions. PLEASE dont take offense to any of these comments. They are not meant as personal attacks. Now that i got the disclaimer out of the way...
First of all id like to welcome all the Pinwheel players to Milky Way. Some of you have been here in the past, many have not. I think its great that we can finally merge all the players of IC. This injection of fresh players into Milky Way is good for the game. The galaxy hasnt been this full in quite some time and im looking forward to the competition as well as meeting new people. That being said on to the PvC....
*NOTE: these are in no particular order
1. #4688, The Marauders
LOCATION: N-W corner of Sector1
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Prism, Mr Sinister, Malice, Harpoon, Gambit, Mystique, Eternia
A family full of Pinwheel players located in the most dangerous sector in Milky Way. Unfortunately for them 4698, 4692 and 4703 are their closest neighbors. They are gonna have a difficult time securing their cores against these strong familys. Diplomacy is gonna be key to their survival. As they are relatively unknown to us Milky Way veterans i would caution not to underestimate them. They are gonna have to fight for every planet in their area and they could keep them if they are tenacious.
CONTENDERS for top 15, maybe top 10 if they secure a decent ally and use their core instead.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
" I Think we can mix it up with the top families depending on the activity. Im realistically looking for top 10 finish in all categories"
2. #4689, HUMANS
LOCATION: N-E corner of Sector 3
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Fygaro, Sticks, IC Death, Final Doom, Edge, Stunner, and a few LTs
A decent mix of Pinwheel and Milky veterans. They have one of the best locations of any family in the galaxy. Their nearest neighbors, 4705 and 4706, are quite far away. I predict they will try to claim a huge core and this might be their downfall. The top of sector 3 will be a hotbed of activity due to familys in sector 1 wanting to get away from danger. I dont see them being able to defend their core with their attacking line up. IC Death's familys have a tendency to fall apart during critical wars. they need a strong ally to fill up what will surely be an oversized core.
CONTENDERS for top 10 at most.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"We will do our best"
3. #4701 (nameless as of now)
LOCATION: Middle of Sector 2
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Snailex, LLUUNN, rising, star99, Bartje, Portgas, Monkey D Luffy
This family has no name, no theme and most importantly no ally as of right now. The players in this family, most notably Portgas, have a tendency to go inactive. This is a shame cuz they are in the most empty sector in Milky Way. Their closest neighbor, 4704, could eat them up early in the round if these guys dont get organized. Everyone has been talking about how important sector 2 is as secondary cores. I can see them doing ok with economy but will eventually fall to the numerous invaders that will surely come to their sector.
CONTENDERS for top 15 at most.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"We are playing a relaxed fun round"
4. #4694, It's the end of the world!
LOCATION: N-E corner of Sector 4
ALLYS: 4696
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Tja, Khorinis, Zarf, Flashy, Tidus, Easyway, Gondor
There are some good Milky Way and Pinwheel players in this family. Gondor runs a good economy and i know Khoronis is active and quite persistant. They have a good location and Sector 4 has alot of wide open territory. Their closest neighbor, 4700, could be a problem for them IF they arent allied already. The key to this family's success will depend on Zarf's leadership skills and his ability to perform under pressure. Sector 4 will be invaded heavily by outside familys and if they can keep them at bay i can see this family doing well.
CONTENDERS for top 10, perhaps top 5 if their attackers play defensively.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"Normally, I wouldn't even be playing this round. However, I managed to get lucky enough to get a solid crew of players, so this seemed like a good opportunity for me, personally, to have a winning IC round. Although it's nearly impossible to judge family cohesion before the round, our crew has been seemingly active and getting along during this time. I see good opportunities for us!"
5. #4704, The (apparently they cant figure out a name yet)
LOCATION: South end of Sector 2
ALLYS: 4691
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Tobias, Elrohir, colorado, Lazyness, razor, remo, ozmosis, kristen, banzai
This family has a lot of good attackers and Tobias is a very capable leader who knows how to run a good economy. A good economy depends on the activity of their bankers which might be a problem based on who they have banking. Their advantage is their location. 4701 and 4700 are their closest neighbors. They will most likely dominate 4701 but 4700 might present a challenge for them without strong ally support. 4691 will want to get out of deadly sector 1 and help fill their cores, but they are quite far away. Their alliance will have to coordinate efficiently if they are to succeed.
CONTENDERS for top 10 easily, top 5 if their alliance is strong.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"I predict we will be dark horses for the round. if we get to our allies core we could control a massive area"
6. #4692, All of you are ugly!
LOCATION: N-E corner of Sector 1
ALLYS: 4703
NOTABLE MEMBERS: DragonSup, Genesis, DroidsDK, Lee, Tico, Mizzle, Gekko, Gaheris
These are your reigning champions from Milky Way 39. They have top notch active attackers that will fight to the death. Their economy has the potential to be great IF they can escape sector 1 and establish a core in sector 3. This family is active and will be a force to be reckoned with despite their cramped location because their ally is very close. 4688 and 4698 could present a problem for them if they dont handle their diplomacy, which could be a weakness as this family is full of notorious hotheads.
CONTENDERS for top 3
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"5 of us are from the top alliance last round...lets go!!!"
7. #4690, ~ We Are Legends ~
LOCATION: Middle-West Sector 1
ALLYS: 4702
NOTABLE MEMBERS: GxReborn, Charlie, Old School, Fudgeh, Sollo, CounterStrike, King and DeathWatch
A family full of seasoned veterans stuck in the chaos that will be sector 1. Their alliance is their biggest advantage as they are the 2 closest allys in the game. This is key in sector 1. Their economy will be efficient, which is being run by Counterstrike. Their attackers are skilled but i can see them relying heavlily on allied attack support. This family will be all over sector 1 and stopping them will be difficult at best.
CONTENDERS for top 3.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"I'd say my fam is contenders for top 3 but that's still left to be seen"
8. #4705, Olympus
LOCATION: N-W Sector 3
ALLYS: 4695
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Gurney, Spooky, Brutality, Bluemonkey, Mantic, Geese, Blue, Uruk, Lianowar
This family is mostly Pinwheel players with a good location in sector 3. Their allys are quite close and there is alot of real estate in the top portion of this sector. Their alliance will establish a big core but their main problem will be defending it from sector 1 refugees. 4694 will be the biggest threat to their cores and i predict a war will break out between them early. If their alliance doensnt coordinate extremely well they will be swallowed up quickly.
CONTENDERS for top 10, top 5 if their alliance is effective.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"We are looking pretty solid, got loads of experience combined with some interesting players. Activity won't be a problem. You decide where we'll end eh?"
9. #4706, SofaKings!
LOCATION: S-E Sector 3
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Arby3, Einsteinium, Bend, Gollum, Naton, Clown, Lohan, Noir, Jeff, Wolfe, Lonely
Another family comprised of mostly Pinwheel players. Their location is a double edged sword. They are too close to two alliances in their area, yet they have the biggest cluster of systems in the galaxy just east of their home. Their activity and organization is suspect, as some of their players have a reputation for playing when they feel like it. Without a strong ally for support this family will most likely be devoured by their neighbors. That super cluster east of them will be total chaos. Their leader will have to negotiate his ass off to survive!!
CONTENDERS for top 15 at best.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"Im Looking for a fun round, teaching pw noobs how to play in mw"
10. #4697, Wheres Mankirks Wife?
LOCATION: Middle of Sector 1
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: TimHorton, Undeath, Fearless, Prototype, ommot
I cant imagine a worse place to be in the galaxy, especially without allys. They are smack in the middle of sector 1 WAY too close to 4702 and 4690. According to the feedback i got from their leader, their organization and activity isnt the best right now. Who is banking? Who are their attackers? Nobody knows. What i do know is they will be victimized by every other family in their sector. The outlook for this family is very grim indeed. Go easy on them guys!
CONTENDERS for top 15 maybe. Read Tim's quote and tell me otherwise! ![]()
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"We've lost a lot of players so far. We've lost literally as many as we got. I'm 3rd leader so far. Atm not really organized. As far as I can see it's just me (Tim Hortons) and Undeath, but I'm pretty sure we're not the only notables here"
11. #4687, Angry Beavers
LOCATION: Middle of Sector 1
ALLYS: None as of yet
NOTABLE MEMBERS: TBO, EvilRunt, Blackmailer, Idiotic
Apparently this family didnt think to ally 4697. They are in a horrible location and they could of used a any ally with 02 and 90 so close. Their leadership has changed hands, and rightfully so cuz TBO attemtped to PNAP the entire galaxy. Whichever familys signed that PNAP will be all over the small core they will have. Maybe their new leader will get them organized? Sadly i dont think it will matter. No allys + no organization = disaster in this hellish sector.
CONTENDERS for top 15 maybe. Personally i think they are toast.
QUOTE FROM THEIR (former) LEADER
"I love my NAPs!"
12. #4702, ~Mexican Wave~
LOCATION: West Sector 1
ALLYS: 4690
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Luster, pitbull, kollop, parrot, impire, orbit, schniepel, marauder, runem, hydroP, ninja
Wow!! this family is stacked! Top notch skilled attackers and excellent bankers. Their alliance is the closest to each other in the galaxy with victims all around them ripe for the plucking. There are a few negatives however. They are being led by Luster who can be a bit erratic at times. Can he hold these strong personalitys together? Im betting he will not be the leader by the end of the round. If these guys can stay active and interested there are few that will be able to beat them.
CONTENDERS for top 3, if not the win.
(no quote)
13. #4696, Expendable
LOCATION: S-E corner Sector 4
ALLYS: 4694
NOTABLE PLAYERS: bullet, ATeam, Symphony of Chaos, Weedkillers, Etherael, Vasticus, RoGue, Danger
A decent Pinwheel transplant family. Bullet and Weedkillers are capable leaders and can pull any team together if Bullet can stay sober! Their allys arent too far away in sector 4 and their alliance will contend for control of this sector aggressively. If sector 4 gets overwhelmed with invaders this family might have some issues. Their closest neighbor, 4099 will most likely be a target for them early on.
CONTENDERS for top 10, possibly top 5 if they can control sector 4.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"Great players, with great activity so far, just need to get off to a great start, and we will do well"
14. #4691, Things You Wished You Had Said
LOCATION: N-E corner Sector 1
ALLYS: 4704
NOTABLE MEMBERS: Smaug, WalkingCorpse, Vegeto, Galeonis, tco
A family of good Milky Way veterans that have the misfortune of being in sector 1. Walking Corpse is a very good leader and i know this family will be organized. Their economy will depend on establishing a secondary core with their allys in Sector 2. The 4692/4703 alliance is very close to them and escaping their attackers will be key. This family has solid attackers and im quite confident they can grab alot of planets in sector 2.
CONTENDERS for top 5, top 10 if they cant get to their ally's core fast enough.
QUOTE FROM THEIR LEADER
"Gonna try hard to limit the 'we shoulda done that' moments"
15. #4703, ~The Aztecs~
LOCATION: S-E corner Sector 3
ALLYS: 4692
NOTABLE MEMBERS: AA, Rizzy, TYMO, IC Spyro, Ancient, Satan, Gimmix, Bryon
My family, which is mostly Pinwheel players with a few Milky Way vets. We have a great location and a great alliance. Our economy can be strong as long as we can defend sector 3 from invaders. The key to our success will be coordinating with our allys to help them establish a core outside of sector 1. Im a capable leader and argueably the best special operations coordinator in the game. Our attacking core is solid and our bankers active.
CONTENDERS for top 3, top 5 if we dont stay active enough.
QUOTE FROM ME
"Metallica rocks!!"
NOTE: the following familys did not respond to my message and my evaluation of them will be short.
16. #4695, Is there a doctor in the house
LOCATION: Middle-West sector 3
ALLYS: 4705
They have a decent location in sector 3. They will need to work with their ally to establish some dominince in their sector. 4703/4692 will be their biggest threat as that alliance will seek to control the sector. 4696 and 4694 will also be trying to invade them from the west. They are pinched between 2 active alliances.
CONTENDERS for top 10, top 15 if they dont work with their ally.
17. #4698 (no name yet)
LOCATION: N-E corner of Sector 1
ALLYS: Unknown
NOTABLE MEMBER: Talic
This family has no name and that probably means they arent organized much. I barely see anyone online there when ive looked at them. These guys are just too close to 4692 and will be swallowed up by the surrounding familys. They have nowhere to expand and i dont see them getting out sector 1 alive.
CONTENDER top 15, most likely a farm until we see otherwise
18. #4699 (no name yet)
LOCATION: S-E corner of Sector 4
Yet another nameless family. If you dont have a name by now we all have to assume this family isnt very active nor organized. Their proximity to 4696 will either force them into a NAP or an early war which they will most likely lose. They have alot of space west of them but unfortunately invaders from crowded sectors will diminish their core.
CONTENDERS for top 15, most likely a farm
19. #4693, Hybrids
LOCATION: N-W corner Sector 1
A family of unknowns in a sector filled with familys. Their races are mostly Revalons with a few other races sprinkled here and there. This tells me they arent very active. They will be overwhelmed by the strong alliance of 4690/4702. Unless they have another ally nearby i dont see them surviving very long.
CONTENDERS for top 15, most likely another farm
20. #4700, ColoRs
LOCATION: North sector 4
NOTABLE MEMBERS: DeadlyX, Artic, Airwing(i think)
This family is a total mystery to me. If Artic is there i dont have much hope for them. They have a great spot and lots of open space to explore. Maybe then can hold off invaders. At least they have a theme and a family name, which is more than i can say for some familys. They might be kinda organized. I cant predict much for these guys cuz i dont know who their allys are. With a decent ally maybe they can last, but i dont see it.
CONTENDERS for top 15, maybe top 10 if they suprise us.
I was just making a joke arganon Lighten up dude ![]()
Im working on the PvC tonite. Im hoping to get it out by late tonite or sometime tomorow. its alot more work than i had thought.
It would help if all the leaders replied to my message. So far i have 13 out of the 20 familys responses.
LOL @ Primo!!
Your such a goon. Youre never around, but yet you edit people's posts out of the blue for retarded reasons. He wasnt advertising. He was using those games as points of reference to enhance his post. Perhaps you should look up the definition of 'advertising' before you go editing posts.
I said 'before the round starts'. That doesnt mean Saturday morning ![]()
Im gonna start typing it up tonite and hopefully by the time i finish the familys who responded, the other guys will have responded as well. Im not gonna do it half-assed. Patience young one.
and btw....is this a PvC thread or the History International channel?
Im working on the PvC. CALM DOWN!! lol
Im waiting for more leaders to respond to my message i sent earlier. It will be done before the round starts.
DONT SIGN THAT PNAP WITH TBO's FAMILY!!
I talked to him last night. His intention is to delete from that family as soon as he can get his delete reset.
Signing that PNAP is going to ruin the family he leaves behind.
Ok guys. Im gonna attempt my first ever PvC. I sent all the leaders of Milky Way a message asking for some basic information. The quicker they reply the faster this PvC gets done. When you talk to your leader make sure to nag him about replying to my message.
