"The Bad economy wasn't cause by high energy prices."
Yes it was. Else those bubbles would have busted later. Look up the price of energy compared to the real value of money and you can predict almost every crisis for almost a century. It peaks right before the crash. After the crash it falls, and after a period of low energy prices econ boosts again and increases energy prices again.

"It was caused by fiscal irresponsibility by too many people."
Partly true, people couldn't maintain the bubbles because everything went up in price. Everything went up in price because production and transport costs where higher. Production and transport costs where higher because energy prices skyrocketed. If there wasn't the house bubble it would have been something else. Even if there were no bubbles, we would all be poorer no matter what.

We can afford all this stuff not because we work so hard, but because the resources to produce it are very cheep. We successfully replaced labor from people with energy(coal, oil) that does the work for us. The replacement is a hundred times more productive as the original workforce. That is why we are so rich. Without it, we can't feed even 1/3 of worlds population at this moment let go produce and consume a lot.

"obama was facing a two war front, collapsing economy and the piling failed policies of bush, where bush STARTED the bailout plan but obama finished it."
The bad econ was caused by an increase in energy prices. The bursting bubbles where only symptoms. Bush was not single handed responsible for that. You give the guy to much credit.

"btw the govt. made a large profit on the AIG shares they purchased."
Another reason to question why the balance is so negative.

"the job losses all happened right after the bush administration, any logical sense would conclude that they were results of bush's policies,"
Any logical sense would say it was an increase in resource prices and bubbles. I'm not a big fan of bush but again you give the guy to much credit.

"the last 3 years have seen small but constant job growth."
It always does after a "crash". The only remarkable thing here is how slow.

Obama merely saved the failing leadership that will make the same mistakes in the future.

"However, I would be willing to die for my escort. I'm not really sure why, other than I just feel that way about her."
She reads your posts? Evil!

I'd be willing to die for some rest right now...oh, and put it on my grave when I die.

@ILP
True or not, if Bush lied it only says something about Bush. Its no excuse for this president.

@COT
You could debate whether or not it was necessary but Obama spend much much more bush ever did in a shorter term inflation included. If you're disputing this I'm prepared to go to the boring task of looking sources up again and post them, but I bet you know this.

"Then why do they consistently vote against it in Amerika?"
A mixture of ignorance and Lack of political knowledge on their side.

Obama, despite trying, would have a hard time making the US into a dictatorship before he is moved out of office. Chavez proly had far less problems with it.

He's a pussy compared to Stalin. He deserves death.

On a more serious note, I do fear this people much more as I do the liberals. Most liberals still believe in democracy, so chances are bigger their actions can be reversed.

there is no Burger King in his town?
he has a crush on girl who works there but hasn't told her yet?
the boss is his dad?
he would be taxed more on his bigger earning?

"good, now we can save on bridges and stuff by leaving 10 ft gaps"
You could save some space for pedestrian too. What they save on fuel they can eat!

motorcycles, trucks, trains, even boats would become much more efficient.

"I'm aware. Are you going to argue with my statement that urban areas tend to vote left, and rural areas tend to vote right?"
like in monaco,japan or the netherlands they are left for decades? Or china perhabs. I know those results without looking it up.
I see more variables than just the population even if most of the dense areas would vote left. And yes, I detest the notion of left and right anyway. Even the axis thing that props up now and then on this forum isn't accurate enough.

I'm sorry zarf to steal your job but I'm declaring Godwins Law! ...For no reason at all that is.

@UD
a canoe is much faster as a Carrack thats all.

Back on topic,

Right now about 0,5% to 1,5% average of every barrel is used in a consumers vehicle as fuel to move a person from point a to b. This could be up to 6% for low performance or very costly cars but those are often not interesting for consumers. Estimates vary but the majority of specialists claim this average percentage might raise instead of lower, even if oil production becomes more costly in the future.

Why? Many reasons.

I give you one:
A multitude of new inventions who become commercial soon or are already used in new cars.
*GFP
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphite-reinforced_plastic
In short, it has 30% less weight then alu and 50% over steel. That is huge.
*New technology that allows you motor to remain turning with a lower RPM.
*New computer technology will make your car drive more efficient. This goes so wide you can start multiple threads over this subject alone.
could go on here.

Those numbers seem insignificant but even a raise of 0,1% on average sometimes means 20% more distance with the same fuel. This will make oil affordable for much longer for use in cars.

"I don't think so. It was incoherent rambling and..."
Let me guess...It's an insult to someone's intelligence?

lol

Normally I ignore pointless insults, but now I'm starting to become curious. Why are you so frustrated about the intelligence thing? Maybe I can learn something about frustrated kids, if not about OIL.

Don't reply with the part "criticism" of wikipedia on this one, just post a link.
