The ball is delivered differently, had cricket started off with the bowler being a thrower (as in baseball), I think they'd be bowling a hell of a lot faster... most probably changing the game (of cricket) completely. How many times in a game is a Baseball player actually targeted by the ball or at risk of being hit by the ball? I don't believe that it would be as great a risk as being hit by the ball in cricket, trying to hit the batter in the head (or anywhere on the body) while bowling in cricket is legit and doesn't lead to an all in fag fest of jersey pulling and wrastlin all over the ground in a heap lol.
