I think its fun. 35's exploration of the koth systems has lit the fuse so to speak. Somene has to prevent them from winning. Which of the top fams will get jumpy and strike first? Only time will tell.

Dyt's idea is really good. Metrex's idea is intriguing. Aiding allys could be overpowered though. It would have to have restrictions.
make it take time to arrive from one family to another. Calculate the distance between homesystems at 20 (possibly 40?) speed. Game terms they would be space freighters. They should be faster than a DS. Maybe it only functions for a leader, fa and vl. Giving only, or perhaps both giving and recieving. A leader would have to be careful with the VL tag cuz it would give them more power.
Instant aid would make the start of rounds insane. The alliance could easily make a superbanker fast. My idea slows it down a bit and forces the alliance into thinking about coordination and timing. You could also prevent alliance aid the first 48 hours.
it would be neccesary to keep track of a family's 'credit score'. Calculate how much they gave given and recieved in cash and resources. You would have to assign a base value to each of the resources + cash and have it be one total. It would be unfair to publish exact numbers. then everyone else knows too much. You would have to use a bar and make it more ambigous. You start at 0 in the middle. Red negative, green positive.
You need to see this 'credit score' to avoid the bad guys out there who are only switching allys to leech off them. You gonna ally the family with a huge red bar? The one who just dropped their ally and now wants to ally you? If you leave this debt a secret your gonna see alot of dirty moves. Family 1 of the alliance takes loads of aid and drops family 2. Family 2 posts in uni about the theft. Family 1 denies it and calls Family 2 liars.
Which raises the question.... how much do you trust your ally? We all witnessed numerous alliance changes in this current mw round. do you really wanna send your family's resources to the ally who may drop you for someone else the next day? Scary.
So will alliance aid actually improve gameplay? Adding another element to relations and diplomacy? Or will this simply be another way to screw over a hapless family and use them for resources. Perhaps making it more cut throat? Im not exactly for this idea or totally against it either. Im just playing devils advocate. Ally aid complicates things 
Ultimately though it comes down to wether or not Ps can do this. Could be overly complicated.
It would be epic if they did pull it off.

I have a question...
Why are people making NAPs outside of the official ingame relations page NAPs? I understand attaching cores to the deal before you make it official on the relations page. But why are we still seeing NAPs being made outside the game mechanics?
4703 happened to have one of these unofficial NAPs with 4702. They honored it as did we. However there was alot of contreversy surrounding the cancellation of this NAP particularly WHO can cancel it. Had it been an official relations page NAP it wouldnt of been an issue.
My advice to every family:
NEVER sign an unofficial outside the game NAP. Always make it official in the relations page AFTER you have sorted out cores, NAP payments and what not. We have these relation page NAPs for a reason. Be wise and use them.

This has been an unusual war to say the least. I had fun despite all the drama and mistakes made by our alliance. I have nothing but respect and admiration for 02 and 90. Their last minute re-alliance was a great game move. Its one of those relation moves that i mentioned in previous posts. Well played folks.
My family has nothing to be ashamed about. They remained active and interested and put forth a solid effort. Yea we made some mistakes but thats how we learn. its a shame rizzy disappeared on us. He missed out on some fun stuff. Which brings me to the next topic...
I owe 02 an apology regarding my previous post about racial insults and personal attacks. I should of been more specific as to who said what exactly. Nobody in 02 or 90 said anything racist, that i am aware of, to rizzy. That was all Artic. What i was trying to get across with that post was: we all need to be nicer to each other on a personal level. Im not saying you have to love everyone and blow rainbows up their asses. Just asking for some basic decency and respect.

i wouldnt describe 02 re-allying 90 as 'mastermind'. It was a good game move though, took us by suprise. Although i applaud the move i must say that 90's involvement isnt exactly challenging nor does it take a whole lot of skill. 90 got to see what 89 had jumped for fleet. 89 had spent their savings and their fleets got smashed up or were rendered useless. In essence 90 is attacking a defeated family for all intents and purposes.
dont get me wrong....im not calling 90 shady, dishonorable or anything like that. It was a smart move on their part and i would of would done the same if i were in their shoes....however....i dont think they should patting themselves on the back too much for how this went down and how its playing out currently. As far as skill and challenge is concerned that is.

I pretty much blame Luster, Kollup, Artic and a few other guys for Rizzy's disappearance. He was insulted on every level possible. If you people (and you know who you are) hadnt thrown temper tantrums like a 3 year old and acted like poor sports maybe rizzy wouldnt of gone MIA on us. You berated him so badly over a video game that he didnt want to show up. You (and you know who you are) should be ashamed of youreselves.
The first 4-5 pages of this thread are loaded with hate filled rants from people who CLAIM to fight for honor and whats right in this game. I cant tell you whats right and whats wrong in this game but i do know one thing.....

This entire round ive had to deal with this nonsense. You people claim to be about honor. There is no honor in how you have conducted yourself outside the game itself. Its reprehensible and disgusting. Never in my 11 years of playing this game have i seen so much hatred and immaturity.
Oh, and this is just the things said in the forums. The insults and personal attacks rizzy, myself and others have had to deal with in CHAT were worse. Racial slurs towards rizzy, disgusting sexual harrasement against Counterstrike and horrible things said about me, my life and even my daughter was dragged into this. Oh and then im told i have psychological issues? Really? given all the things said to/about me this past few months from some of you and IM THE ONE WITH THE MENTAL PROBLEMS?! Yea right....
So if you think its the gameplay and hardcore tactics used INGAME that are driving people away from this game, THINK AGAIN! Its people like Luster, Artic and kollup that are destroying the very fabric of this community by resorting to such childish and hatefull behavior. THIS NEEDS TO END! Its time you grew up and started acting like adults. You guys owe me and the community an apology.
Good summary Orbit. Thats exactly what happened. Congrats to 02 on the victory. Well played allying 90 at the last minute to turn the tide. That was pretty cool lol. Losing all my ground and transports really hurt. It knocked me out of the fight for half a day. I had to jump mostly ground cuz we really couldnt afford to get me heavy figs. Its not just Rizzy who disappeared, IC Death did as well just a few hours after the war started. Nobody has seen him since.
So hats off to 90 and 02. Your new/old alliance has pretty much won the round. I dont see us contending for the win anymore as our allys are getting smoked worse than we are.
Look at the first 4-5 pages of this thead. its filled with pissing and moaning about 2v1's, my family being dishonorable and other nonsense. It just goes to show that you never know what can happen in this game. Yea it looked grim for 02 at first but they made an excellent game move and overcame it. I hope there are no hard feelings over this on both sides. Ive said it many times.....its just a game.
