I got your point I just disagreed with it. As rb3 said, it is still a choice. Some ops are good and some are less good and the good ops are always or almost always chosen. If you want to use another op you have to make some hard decisions. Fun aye?

I agree with you that this system works best if ops are balanced. Which they aren't at the moment, but we are working on improving the more useless ops. You could SA is too good and we could nerf it instead. Although the op is not that useful later in game and as I said it is one of the flaws that makes Revalons less attractive.

Physical improvement and a healthier lifestyle, all to gain spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. wink

Isn't that the whole purpose? If you want one op you can't take another. You make choices on what you find the most important. Races having weak and strong sides is what makes things interesting. Like the Revalons not being able to cast SA.

Agreed on the cycling part. I have been cycling to work (1.5h a day) for a while now and decided to take up running. God I had no stamina when it came down to running! I have only ran four times since I started and compared to you I have a crap stamina but pushing myself to run 1/1.5km more each time works real good for me. I started out with 3km then 4/5/6.5 and next run I am aiming for 8km smile I pick a route on google maps and I aim to complete it to stimulate myself to go that "extra mile".

Of course your income grows exponentially. I said it is irrelevant and misleading to this case. Being behind doesn't change your rate of growth, it only means you are behind. In the end 6,8 or whatever amount remains the same amount of ticks.

Working on it hmm

Stating in advance that my opinion following does not reflect whatever decision mods made or will make.

-

Noir has a point. If you are equally good at infra it just means that you are a few ticks behind. Some kind of exponential view is irrelevant and just misleading. You can't quantify something like this.

Lets say you jump infra and you have a 100k NW lead. Does it really mean you have 100k NW lead? The other family could do the same infra jump 6 ticks later and the lead is gone. Now let's say you are both saving for a war right after an infra jump. This scenario would mean that 1 family would have 6 ticks 'extra income', where the 'extra income' is as much as whatever difference that last infra jump would have meant.

So I agree with Noir. 6 ticks remain 6 ticks and it isn't that much.

-

That said. It could still mean a 6 tick disadvantage so yea, it is not 100% fair. smile

So we should do things because you want it Render? Having responsibilities means you have to make decisions and it is important that you know what consequences your decisions hold.

In this case. Passing the tick manually would do much more than just "fixing a bug". One simple example; Let's say we skipped the tick and someone was in the middle of exploring and now half his e-ships landed which means he has to pay 10x as much to send out the rest.

Try thinking before jumping to conclusions.

Enough story that needs to be told for things to make sense tongue

(19 replies, posted in Bugs)

Of course pain, but at the time I heard about this problem it was already 1 tick later and if we just did a manual tick in the middle of another tick it would have been messy too. Just saying there isn't just a fix.

I am not sure what you mean by mods being able to "fix" this. If we had a perfect solution we would have done so already.

I had not seen this thread yet (a bit busy last month), but there are some good ideas for sure. I will give some more detailed feedback later! smile

ps. I am not sure where this "rich tax" comes from. All ideas have two sides to it and that's also what makes it difficult. You could say that things such as 'Empire large size costs' are there to stimulate more sharing of planets and infra in your fam. Or that in combination with OB that it stimulates families to war more to get more planets, etc.

This in general, not related to your idea btw. Just want to point out that things are never plain or anything =p
