ok then Deci, tolerate each other to a degree. After all, most americans are still alive. If they weren't tolerant to a degree, then we'd all have been killed by now by some random person. Occasionally, we are tongue

the funny thing was, back then when the war started people actually thought it was just going to be like a play or such, until they realized lots of men were dying (stupid fools who set up lawn chairs near others getting killed are bound to realize such things)

And once the North gained the upper hand after Gettysburg, they simply made it a war of Attrition following the southern army all over nipping at their heels the whole time. Not to mention most battles were around 1:1 in deaths for both sides, although a few were significantly more than that, like at Gettysburg. Then there were battles where MANY THOUSANDS died, like Shiloh. So all in all, I'm sure that despite that they thought it was going to be a short thing, it was actually a good thing. It taught Americans to tolerate each other. tongue Otherwise I'm sure that some states would have broken off by now.

And war is good. Didn't you know? Heroes are made, villains are defeated. Children go without fathers, brothers or sisters or mothers or even homes. Hundreds of thousands are killed. what, 3 million men gathered to attack Normandy and invade Europe in ww2, several thousand died on the beaches. Heroes were made. History was made. War is the key thing to society today. How else can you imagine that we have the technology we have today? Companies make better and better tech to provide to their armies and while they're at it do the same for the people. What is useful for the people is useful for the army. Take the one up example, You and I are even with fists, so you pick up a branch, I pick up a rock, you pick up a knife, I pick up a sword, you pick up a bow and arrow, I pick up a crossbow, you pick up a musket I pick up a cannon you pick up an m16 I pick up an Barrett .50 Cal, you pick up a missile I pick up a nuke, etc. Eventually we realize the power of what we have in our hands and bring it back down because if you kill me and i kill you, neither of us win and WE WANT to win. We don't want to lose. So we decide lets bring it back down to where I have a better chance of winning and not killing myself.

Such is war.

I would like to know your opinion as you're seen as some sort of key player in this game (who woulda guessed?)

I wanted to try pop banking this round, never done it before and I would like to know what your thoughts are on starting out. Like, cf into pop roles. Starting out pop and not bothering with cf, ratios etc. I mean I know basic stuff from glancing through the forums, but I never found a good strat everyone agreed upon.

Oh and most likely whatever I post in this forum I probably don't know what I'm talking about...or maybe I do big_smile who knows smile

oh and Mace, by the time it matters, most bankers should have about 15-20% nw as ground.

assuming you're 1 mil nw, you have 150k ground. (unless maximizing income, then 100k) They should be able to take on another banker in a war, with support from another attacker. IE, attacker takes out most ground then leaves the banker exposed to the other banker who can then raid him.

I pointed out awhile ago the information concerning Soldiers and Droids.

in a straight up fight, D v S it's a 1 on 1 thing, and it comes down to who has more. However, once attack bonuses come into play, your 7 pt droid becomes 10.5 with 50% and with another 50 from research is 14 and will pwn 3 soldiers before being killed. 3 1/2 actually. so you have 7 soldiers killing and being killed by 2 droids. How's numbers for that?

s v d is 2 v 4, so you have 2 soldiers taking on 1 droid. So most likely you need double the attack force for that of the defending force. that's alot of ground. Now assuming you're a Revalon, -30% of 2 is 1.4 so you suddenly just went from 2 soldiers to 3 soldiers, and your last soldier is hanging by a bare thread when that last droid comes around the corner and taps him killing him but gets some blood on the droid, causing it to rust slightly tongue

in such case you need 3 times the ground the enemy has. More so if they have military research, which is likely. Now you're pretty much screwed unless you have high ground or you don't hit a portal or they stationed. Pray. Hard.

Now the tricky thing next up is that a Rev hitting another Rev portal, 2 against 7. that's what? 1.4 against 7. lets bring about some numbers here, 3 = 4.2 6 = 8.4. so 5 = 7 so you need 5 soldiers to take on 1 enemy soldier. since you have -30% attacking and they have 0% defending. See where I'm going? Yeah, it's a game of numbers more than anything else.

Ironically, an atheist believe's in something. What do you believe in Ehawk?

I consider myself agnostic, there's a god or greater being out there somewhere but hell if I know what or who it is. In the meantime I agree with your last assessment, that I respect life and death from an atheists' viewpoint (I move back and forth between atheism and agnosticism and christianity. I blame the weirdness of my life. A damn on/off switch is what it is.)

@ Ehawk - now, there is a saying, there is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole because he is praying with all his might he doesn't get hit.

now, there's a lovely quote from CS Lewis: "Of course it's easy enough to say that God seems absent at our greatest need because He is absent -- non-existent. But then why does He seem so present when, to put it quite frankly, we don't ask for Him?"

I actually have been killing, but the majority of deaths from the recent earthquake in Haiti has caused a death overgrowth to occur leaving me with more souls than I want. So I'm on hiatus atm. But I'm sure once I'm back from hiatus you'll be first to go wink

right now, I'm just poking random people who died with a dull butter knife. I wanted a giant sharp one, but alas. sad Maybe I'll look in my closet and bring out my machete and hockey mask. That always gets a kick during the company Halloween party tongue
