well, right now Obama is clearly ahead in Domestic issues and McCain is clearly ahead in Foreign issues. McCain is well behind in polls because of the banking scares we've had making more of the population feel domestic issues are more important. So McCain needs to try to gain some ground with the economy if he's going to stand any chance of winning the presidency. He needs to be very aggressive in claiming to be pro-regulation and call Obama a Liar in claiming he was against regulation; he needs to mar Obama's clean image. he needs to claim Obama's plan will decrease jobs.

i do realize they have two different ideas on how to fix problems, and Obama's way of solving the economic problem is by bribing the vast majority of americans with tax refunds, so they'll ignore him running the economy down into the ground. and i have never contradicted myself.

no, because they're supporting someone who is gonna drive our economy into the ground, i dont respect them. people that support McCain have a different view of things then i do, but i got no beef with them.

Again.  Sloppy logic.

Why can't intellect assign value for humans?  Intellect fueled by the instinct of survival and advancement of our species.  Not all instincts are bad,  they just need to be modified by our intellect.

Intellect allows us to see the useless and counter-productive nature of mankind, and then take action to upgrade those instincts and emotions to the point where they are more suitable for the environment we find ourselves in.

Biotechnology will give us all the tools we need to get this done.

see, you cant even imagine a world where intellect, overrules instinct/emotion, you're apparent ideal world is around our instinct of survival and advancement of our species. ok, so im gonna postpone death as long as possible, which means im gonna kill anyone that i come in contact with so they cant kill me. but what is advancement of our species, thats a very emotional goal. bible thumpers will tell you advancement is through stricter adherence to the bible; liberals will tell you its through acceptance of all minorities, communists will tell you its through equality; which is it?

Intellect is the slave of emotion, not a check on it. emotion defines our logic. logic is more biased then.... well.... everything. intellect only allows us to fix counter-productive nature when we all agree on how to fix it or when some of us are willing to use enough force on other humans to fix it and that has been going on since well, the beginning of civilization.

first of all, i dont support McCain.

2nd, it makes alot of sense, out of 43 presidents, how many died in office? a handful. when looking at the most experienced and qualified person for the job, of the 2 available choices, McCain is clearly the best.

3rd, Obama has shown nothing other then a gift of public speaking.

the American people are acting like Bush in voting for Obama. the problem with Bush, is he put under qualified people in important positions. and thats what the American people are doing, voting for someone thats under qualified for the position of president simply because he's likable.

the bible is a collection of books. if one people's collection doesnt have some books that another person's collection has, it doesnt mean they altered the bible, they just have a different view of what the bible is. the bible isnt something handed down by God that man changed and manipulated to fit his own interests. Man wrote books, and different men find God in different books.

"That until the human animal is forced to evolve to a point where intellect over rules instincts(Emotions fall under the category of instincts IMO), any economic or political philosophies mankind dreams up with will forever be destined for failure.

The pathetic state of the experiment that is American democracy and Free Market Capitalism is the direct result of my above statement.

I challenge someone to argue otherwise."

there can not be a purely logical reason to exist, there will be no point of reproduction and humans will become extinct; no reason to overcome struggle. stealing from Equilibrium, the reason to live is to feel.

I clearly state that this mostly is about the "non-issues" that will in the end win the undecided, which I think is what both campaigns are after now that both bases are strong.

And of course, it's just MY opinion...

meh, i dont care if Canada has the most fresh water, all i care about is that im surrounded by 5 great lakes that have all the water i'll ever need.

"All we need to do is bomb the following locations:

1) Hockey Rinks

2) Beer Distributors/Manufacturers

3) Any location smelling of horse dung

4) Paint Factories (To get the sniffers)

5) All pot fields."

how are we gonna bomb all of 3? thats gonna take a hell of alot of bombs!

"just like you took Iraq, somolia, and serbia right?"

you cant compare Canada to any of those. a better comparison would be current day American military, invading Florida back when the Seminole Indians still occupied it.

gladiator, do you think distrust of republicans is something just starting to effect the race? its been evident since well before McCain became the republican nom; its not something thats just going to start, its the reason Obama has been doing as well as he has since the beginning.

"but avo, my point is, mccain was the safe choice tongue obama was the risky choice, i don't think there should be one other person on this forum who should dissagree with this statement.."

i completely disagree. there is so much distrust of republicans, i dont see how you can claim the republican was the safe choice.
