Okay, let me get this straight, and also try to rephrase what I was inquiring about:

For the purpose of this debate, are you assuming that the Christian version of God is true?  Or are you demanding first that Christians prove God exists before making the "god given rights argument?

Just curious... How do you know that, from a Christian perspective, God gave no rights?

we stopped selling illegal drugs and they're still easily available to just about every american in highschool, why would stopping the sale of guns be any more effective?

As a good is banned from legal trade, its only two sources of illegal distribution are import and domestic production.  In terms of domestic production, it's generally much more difficult to produce a firearm than to produce drugs, as the very variety of available drugs means producers can adapt to find a product suiting their capabilities.  Firearms have a much more basic, rigid requirement structure.

In terms of imports, I'm willing to bet that domestic America is probably not the best trade route for arms dealers.  Individuals in the international firearms smuggling business have their choice of African warlords, terrorists, Central Asian and Eastern European powers, rogue states, and South American rebels, none of which have the strongest of border security to worry about, largely because domestic matters are more pressing in many regions.  What makes the US some awesome source of firearms smuggling post-ban?

Disclaimer: I'm not with the gun control advocates on this issue, necessarily.  Consider this a Devil's Advocate game.  tongue

A "right" is simply an extension of the system of values and morals.

The system of values are not self-evident.  Rather, a value is developed over time as a result of a culture's pragmatic societal considerations.  That is why we generally find that values serve some utilitarian function.  In short, an acceptance of a moral is a condensed way of advocating an otherwise pragmatic concern (though those pragmatic concerns may have long been outdated).

Even some otherwise mediocre "morals" serve a utilitarian function within their societies.  For example, the Jewish prohibition of ham could easily be considered a food management tool.  Pigs are much more susceptible to weather fluctuations than other animals, and thus were much more difficult to raise within the Middle East.  Thus, such a "moral" was simply a condensation of a pragmatic debate.

Long story short, you're playing a straw man game here.

Interesting... but I'll opt out of this one.

Too early to predict.  I find the best indicator of how an election goes, assuming an event like 9/11 didn't just occur, is the economy.  We were still in the recession, so people were willing to target the party in power.  Hence, Dems got the axe.

Keerb's got it wrong.  It means you get the equivalent of 27 RC's production per tick.  In effect, 27 science means producing 540 RPs per tick.

Still not much.  However, if you manage to get one of these gems early in the round, you can invest the early research in construction science for a very nice, quick boost!

@DPS

Then you might want to read the thread.  That's been introduced, and is part of the current debate going on.

Note, though, that Justinian (with some exceptions, granted) is often considered "offensive" due to the nature of his opinion, rather than the way in which he explains that opinion.  You can't really censor someone's opinion as offensive... otherwise, pretty much anyone could be censored if the other side is passionate enough about their viewpoint.

Now, if you're calling Justinian out on the method in which some of his opinions are expressed, that's understandable.  Just want to note that a distinction must be made.

Two main factors prevent me from posting here.

1: Busy with other stuff.  Side note: Justinian, find me on chat some day!
2: The most active topic here is a gay marriage topic.  I never really liked social topics... too many unsubstantiated views and not nearly enough evidence to back things up.
