Hey Primo, want to delete every post after the first 3 for being off-topic? Thanks.
Please stop spamming. You're embarrassing yourself.
I apologize to anyone who bothered to wade through that idiotic exchange. In respectful patience I respond to mundane and ignorant posts, but obviously it has a way of spamming threads very quickly. With this forum's software prohibiting deleting the spamming child's posts, I responded to avoid the "you ignored my post! I must have been right and you're a poor debater!" conclusion on the child's part and maimed the thread.
I blame Stephen.
>>Provide statatistics if you are going to make such remarks.<<
Read the news. There are stories of many murders in border towns. And not all kidnapping victims make it home safe. You have to pay me if you want me to run a news service for you. I'm not talking about anything but well-established and irrefutable facts here. And I made it clear in my initial post that I wasn't interested in discussing your willful ignorance.
>>Both statements are equally valid if truth cannot be ascertained.<<
But the truth can be ascertained. And even if it couldn't, I wouldn't be as concerned about Americans executing criminals as much as I am for criminals murdering American citizens.
I'm done wasting time with your bullshit. You haven't responded to a single one of the concerns in my initial post. You've done nothing but equivocate over information you obviously have access to, having an internet connection, but have chosen to ignore in favor of harassing me in asking for documentation of information that my points do not even depend upon. I've entertained your childish harassment long enough. I even addressed why I wasn't interested in this embarrassing, intellectually-retarded exchange in closing my initial post. I've been patient, and now I've humored you long enough. It's time to stop spamming now. This conversation is obviously over your head. Have a nice day.
Phoenix didn't reach 2nd place for kidnapping capital in the world because of any other factor than illegal immigration from Mexico. America is a nation of laws, and without an influx of illegal immigrants who come from a more lawless land not respecting these laws and corrupt politicians refusing to deport them, Phoenix would be like the rest of America--Nowhere on any kidnapping rank list.
Why would Obama seem like a good statesman for standing there and bowing his head to insults, but Calderon not seem like a bad statesman for making ignorant and hypocritical remarks? Has being weak and accepting ignorant insults ever been the sign of a good leader in history? Why would Obama, who is the representative for the United States of America--the most prosperous nation on earth and champion of individual rights--seem unreasonable to not stand there and be insulted like an ignorant jackass by the leader of an economic midget who cannot even defeat drug lords within its own borders?
I'm not going to waste more time embarrassing myself in response to a child. Provide statistics that prove that, percentage-wise, immigrants (I presume you meant illegal? It's an important distinction. Perhaps you should make it.) are responsible for more crime than Americans? (Your statement, I just used the right words and grammar) I didn't make such a claim, or any claim that depends on such a claim being true. Even if illegal immigrants had less than 50% the crime rate of citizens, that wouldn't necessarily be an argument for amnesty--which it seems you're arguing for in every weird statement you make and question you ask.
You're repeating generic arguments that the USA have no immigration policy and let everyone on earth who wants in immigrate. But no other country on earth does this, as it would create all sorts of problems, as it does in the USA. Claims that it's somehow ignorant or unproductive or immoral for the USA to enforce its immigration policy are ignorant and ridiculous. Would you make these arguments for every nation on earth? Of course not. Only to the USA, out of some sort of misdirected jealousy, because the USA has things you want, so you must deserve them and the USA must owe them to you.
Please cite your source for claims that many Americans have a paranoid fear of immigration or believe that they are "superior" to immigrants. As you pointed out, most (vast majority) are the descendants of immigrants. Why do you call it paranoia to point out that Americans have a huge kidnapping problem because of illegals? Why do you call it paranoia to point out that Americans are being murdered in large numbers because of illegals? Why do you call it paranoia to point out that illegals cost American taxpayers many billions of dollars annually? I tire of repeating these questions and getting responses neither to my initial post taking insult at Obama's words nor to my common-sense questions.
Posting that "You should just have more lax immigration policy than any other nation on earth or I'll call you paranoid" does not address my points. In fact, it validates them.
>>in response to me saying "don't drive" you tiraded about how hybrid cars are bad for the environment as if I had suggested them, which I hadn't.<<
Wasn't in response to you. Just a general point. I do support conservation. My arguments are against idiots seeking to classify the air you breathe out as polluted. I didn't respond to your basic conservation suggestions because I do not take issue with them. There are other harmful chemicals in auto emissions that it wouldn't hurt to reduce. (which CO2 concerns do nothing to reduce)
>>You are right that the conscientious consumer will make ill informed mistakes but they will always cause less damage than the thoughtless consumer.<<
Not when the conscientious consumer chooses "green" products in an attempt to be responsible when "green" products, in fact, hurt the planet more than their non-green counterparts, but this fact is not exposed because of the interests of powerful entities/entities in power. Ie, ethanol fuel, hybrid cars. Always? Explain these two top-of-my-head examples. I think your claim oversteps the facts.
>>If you don't like the Green party because you think they are socialists, why don't you make your own non-socialist environmentalist party? This is how democracy works.<<
I don't like them because they are socialists. Ralph Nader doesn't care about the environment. And he's not particularly energetic in hiding it. Neither are any of the rest. Democracy works by people like me speaking freely and not repeating mindless lies. Democracy works by people like me not creating their own parties and cluttering up the landscape until it is incomprehensible. I'm not a member of any party nor am I interested in creating one. I just call them like I see them.
>>If government intervention would be ruinous due to foreign competition, then how's about this for an idea; multilateralism and international co-operation.<<
Talk is cheap. I already addressed your question repeatedly. Saying "multilateralism and international co-operation" doesn't get anything done. You can't force nations to cripple their economies in the name of CO2 paranoia. And they're not volunteering to. You can take corporate volunteers to trim their profit margins to be "greener," but progress here is limited by their profit margins and how much they can/are willing to spare to invest in this cause. There are green initiatives that actually do save money. They're mostly limited by available technology. Well-run businesses invest in them on their own. They'd invest in them more if their development wasn't hampered by an overtaxed society leading to everything being dramatically overpriced.
The #2 kidnapping capital of the world is in the United States, compliments of illegal immigrants. This is unacceptable to the standards of the United States of America. And there are many other costs associated with illegal immigrants, who are not taxed and productive members of American society.
My ancestors immigrated legally. America doesn't want those too inept to follow the law in moving here.
Nobody is suggesting killing them. Straw man attacked, straw man attack ignored.
You used the word "paranoid" without qualifying it. You're saying that America is the "least paranoid" of all nations on earth concerning immigrants? Then why is it "amusing"?
You did not address any of the insults I found in Obama's conduct. Also, I don't think America's Mexico border has many parallels with Israel's borders. Little more history there than is relevant to this thread. ![]()
Like the ones in Greece and Spain?
Nobody with a functioning brain is.
I try to be an understanding guy. So, if I were to share Calderon's values, I would describe Mexico's laws as unacceptable violations of your fundamental human rights...
Wait, the guy who just described an unacceptable violation of fundamental rights presides over a nation which violates those same fundamental human rights even more than the violation which he described? This seems like a really obvious and thus ridiculous conversation to be having. Why didn't Obama even hint at this absurdity?
>>The US constitution seems very limiting of the american government<<
Ahhhh, I see you've found its most beautiful point!
It's not a coincidence that America's constitution is the governing document of the most prosperous nation the Earth has ever been home to. Though politicians of both 'sides' will continually tell you how much more government we need to make Eden here on earth, the Founders of the USA who wrote its Constitution were both more honest and wise than these dishonest, power-hungry idiots today and all the idiots who buy into their idiotic rhetoric.
Wednesday, May 19, noonish joint press conference with Mexican president Felipe Calderon:
After first listening to Felipe Calderon describe Arizona's law as one which violates the rights of Mexicans... which I found odd, because it has 0 impact on Mexicans living in Mexico, and I doubt that Mr. Calderon would view Obama commenting on internal Mexican laws with respect and understanding. Adding only more to the hypocrisy is the fact that Mexico has monumentally bigger failures of law and government than the US has ever imagined. But I digress. After Calderon described Arizona's law as unacceptable to him, Obama took the insult to American sovereignty and agreed with Calderon on Arizona's law. Perhaps next, in the spirit of cooperation, Obama can take advice from Calderon on combating drug lords. Normally I would follow with a joke on taking advice from Calderon on economics, but... more on that later.
Their speeches included Obama talking about the priority of economic growth, which I have always found odd--talking about economic growth while taking zero actions to encourage yet many to tax it more. Perhaps Obama was speaking more in the spirit of cooperation, hoping that, with Calderon's help, together they could shrink the United States' economy closer to the size of Mexico's in the name of reducing greenhouse gases and saving the planet (and Al Gore's new beach-front home).
One of the questions posed to Obama after their speeches referred to the "fundamental rights violation" of Arizona's new law. I was confused by this, not being aware of what document grants illegal immigrants to the United States what rights. But neither the question-asker nor Obama revealed this information. Upon investigation, I found that Americans illegally in Mexico do not have these "fundamental human rights" that Mexicans illegally in America have. The reason for this double standard was not mentioned in the question nor referenced in Obama's response. I thus concluded that both the questioner and Obama are ignorant hypocrites. Once again, America's sovereignty was challenged by a Mexican and Obama again responded that he was glad to compromise it. Obama did not question the presumptions upon which the question was based, but agreed with the presumption that Americans owe Mexicans something (something not reciprocated; something Americans should not expect Mexicans to also give them, just something Americans owe Mexicans).
The same questioner then referenced controlling weapons imported into Mexico from the United States, with the obvious presumption that there's a weapons problem and the United States is providing a large number of weapons for Mexicans to kill each other. This presumption can only be backed up by claims that a majority number of traceable weapons used in crimes in Mexico can be traced to the United States. This may sound significant, as long as one does not mention that the vast majority of weapons used in crimes in Mexico are not traceable nor from the United States (only 17 percent of guns found at Mexican crime scenes have been traced to the U.S.). Obama, despite his being a professor at Harvard University, and despite having spoken of his "gift" for oration and explaining himself, made no attempt to correct the ignorant false assumption under which the question was asked. Nor did he correct the record in order to not further the dissemination of misinformation in responding to a question which was asked with the assumption of a falsehood.
Speaking of immigration reform, Obama said that he was frustrated by the same federal failure to regulate immigration that Arizonans are frustrated by. I found this odd, considering that Obama has no desire to 'reform' immigration other than to grant amnesty to everyone and their 3rd cousins. I do not think he understands the frustration of Arizonans at all. Obama went on to declare that obviously this federal failure was not his fault, because he will need Republican support to pass comprehensive immigration reform. I found this questionable, considering that he just passed monumentally larger legislation with absolutely no Republican support. Why would he need Republican support for a matter of national security, when he just passed much larger legislation for the expansion of government without any Republican support nor [a majority of] public support? If I can buy a $200 dinner on the company card without consulting my boss, why do I have to have his approval to buy a $10 pen? I don't.
So, these are a few of the things that insulted me, watching and listening to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, speak today in a joint press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon. Why would Obama listen to Calderon tell him that something is unacceptable, when Calderon would never listen to Obama voice a parallel concern in Mexico without being outraged that Obama was being a colonialist, pushing his will where he has no sovereignty? No other country in the world just lets anyone and everyone enter their nation as Calderon demands Obama do. If Calderon is not being an ignorant hypocrite, why does he not speak out against the "fundamental human rights" abuses of every other nation on Earth? Sure the USA is one of their neighbors, but I think the fact that the USA is the closest nation on earth to not abusing those "fundamental human rights" and all others abuse them even worse is worthy of mention. Why did Obama, with all of his intellect and education, not even suggest the hypocrisy of this demand as politely as politicians are easily capable? Why did Obama respond to a question concerning American guns in Mexico without clearing up the obvious false pretense upon which the question was asked? Why did Obama participate in disseminating a lie by not correcting this false assumption? It's well documented. Why didn't Obama care about speaking the truth? Why doesn't Obama care about America's Sovereignty or being insulted by hypocrites? Shouldn't the President of the United States be above taking ignorant insults from hypocrites and apologizing to them for things that America hasn't done/isn't doing?
I'm just responding to the press conference after watching it. I'm not interested in reading what people are ignorant about. I pulled up a few articles to double check my statements concerning guns used in crimes in Mexico, for instance, but I didn't link them and I'm not interested in hearing what you don't know about (and so is presumed to be true/false as is convenient for making excuses for one's ideology). What insulted me is explained briefly above. Thoughts/feelings? Because I'm pretty sure Obama just insulted his people and bowed his head to insults from a foreign leader of an economic midget compared to the USA which cannot even defend its sovereignty from drug lords. I'm not liking Obama being such a weak, insulting, and embarrassing leader of my nation.

Unless every nation in the world agrees to tax it the same... You cannot "tax it the same."
As I have previously pointed out, most nations of the world are not volunteering to pillage their economies.
That may be true, but that is not one such quote. Your hatred of capitalism clouds your judgement. ![]()
I don't know, there's something about his retarded, senile voice that causes me to tune him out.
>>it doesn't matter if a product is imported from elsewhere or produced in your own country, it'll have to pay the same taxes.<<
That's wrong. Tariffs, taxes levied on imports or exports, are not necessarily "the same" no matter where a product is produced. Nor are they frequently in practice. No wonder I'm not buying your misunderstanding of basic economics.
You've completely neglected to address the fact that nobody in the world is willing to buy products that are twice as expensive in order to be "green." The vast majority of them couldn't, even if they were willing. Instituting policies to make the cost of materials, energy, production, and transportation skyrocket won't save the planet: it would just result in areas with those policies ceasing to produce those products, hurting those areas economically. And the same product continues to get made--somewhere else, where no such ridiculous policies are in place. Net gain to the environment: 0.
He looked like he was going to cry in his concession speech. I should have DVRed it.
He's made it clear he doesn't care if his suggestions don't help reduce emissions or hurt economies of the people who listen to them. 'nough said.
I dunno, for a guy who duped his own people into murdering tens of millions of their own, it seems a bit misguided. You can say all kinds of "clever" things, but when they're completely backward they don't usually get remembered as "great quotes" except by backward people. ![]()
He'll want to clean up, then, before they get to "business." ha ha ha ha
It sounds like IC US Pacific is 1 player. ![]()
Thank you oh wise President Obama for not securing the border (yeah yeah, all the corrupt dickheads before him didn't either; but I think he campaigned on being different from them, which is an admission that they [now him too] are wrong) and exposing your (he IS a natural born US citizen, after all) people to harm and death. Good and wise man you are.
>>This is why you enforce these laws on anyone wanting to sell the products in your country, union, whatever.<<
You're suggesting that responsible nations impoverish their people by skyrocketing the cost of energy and every good they consume, while most other nations continue to increase their emissions? China and India aren't volunteering to pillage their economies. Maybe you've got Greece and Spain on board and many more headed in the same direction; but, call me crazy, that's not the direction I'm looking to go in.
I love how they can overlook how the increased energy used in the production of ethanol produces more CO2 than its use decreases auto emissions by. I love how they can overlook how the energy used to produce solar panels (creating emissions!) is more than the panels produce over the lifetime of their use.
But they'll still tell you how they FEEL about the issue. Never mind the facts.
>> The move to make the economy more environmentally friendly must either be driven by increased government control to ensure that environmentally friendly products and lifestyles are more economically advantageous or by the consumer becoming more conscientious and making more of an effort to shun environmentally unfriendly products.<<
Government control cannot be imposed without massive tariffs ruining free trade as we know it keeping foreign competitors who are not subject to such laws from dominating the market with lower priced goods. The problem with your conscientious consumer is that he's not necessarily more educated; and, often, not. Hybrid cars, for example, do much more damage to the environment when their batteries are disposed of than increased CO2 output would ever do.
Thanks for two examples that would hurt both the economy and the environment.
I thought we were talking about the environment? The green party is a socialist party. Progressive hijack gogo.
