Rofl, Obama Youth.

No.

It's good that we are ignorant of those things. Personally it wouldn't matter for me, but it would decrease consumption and raise prices if the emo people found out.

As long as the emo people are silenced and ignorant of where things come from, the world is a better place.

The peasantry is like that in every time and place.

It does not matter since America is ruled by an elite. Somehow the elite have favored Obama to some degree, and he doesn't have the power to act independently of their interests. If he does, they can easily remove him.

a tactical retreat is "mr president, I can't achieve your goals at this time"

a strategic retreat is "what the hell are we here for anyhow">

Tactics are concerned with the operation of combat, the battlefield. Strategy is concerned with the overall means for reaching the intended military, political, and economic outcomes.

Withdrawing from Iraq is the most strategically sound decision because

1. Our forces are entangled in largely two countries. This reduces our international power, and this reduction of power has been costly to us in South America.
2. Our commitment of forces in Iraq has been financially very costly. Our annual military expenditures have soared from 300 billion in 2001 to 800 billion, most of it paid by loans.
3. We're giving the terrorists the strategic high ground. They harass our expensive troops with their unlimited supply of cheap soldiers, and they can continue this a lot longer than we can. An American soldier is expensive and difficult to replace.

We need to withdraw in order to improve our global strategic position, or the results could be catastrophic and make the terrorists even more powerful.

My recommendation is we change our military doctrine. We do not occupy, because our small and effective force is better suited for quickly moving in and then moving out. It is not nearly as good for occupation. Rather, we should generally use our airforce to level cities and villages that oppose us. It's cheaper and instills fear in to our enemies. It works too (Saddam Hussein vs the Kurds).

Yeah, and Hitler was hardly qualified to comment on military matters. His distaste for strategic retreats lead to the annihilation of many of his forces in Russia.

Yell,

Ever hear of a strategic retreat?

ET,

The prime mover is not necessarily God. It could have been the spaghetti monster, and the spaghetti monster != God. I don't care what philosophers like to name it, it ffing doesn't fit. God is strictly the judeo-christian God and to extend the definition to the prime mover is unacceptable and it's cheating. It does not matter that other cultures have God(s) who are prime movers, it only happens that their God(s) are prime movers. The two are not the same, because for example in Greek mythology the Gods are not prime movers.

Call it the prime mover, and go no further.

Another skeptical consideration is that our inference of the prime mover and it's properties are derived from of our experience of nature. Our experience of nature however is rather insignificant, and therefore we can not be certain if every other part of nature obeys the same physical laws and rules of logic that we have developed from our own experiences. So making these apriori judgments that you are making are hasty generalizations.

Can we stop talking about Obama? We have had more than a year to, and he's pretty much guaranteed victory.

Yeah I know it's one of the more common nationalities, but it's not common to live in a city where 90% of the population is German.

That's funny. I live in a city predominately of German ancestory, and there is going to be a huge Oktoberfest.

But then, it's nothing like New Ulm where the nuts speak German too. On Oktoberfest, they even dress in traditional German attire and play instruments. No joke. I went there for a cultural experience requirement in one of my High School classes.

Hey Balls,

Some people like me just like to be ignorant and think of America as a democracy and argue about candidates, rather than think of her as a plutocracy with controlled elections beneficial to the elite.

Ignorance is bliss!

It pays for my own apartment, sends me to school, and pays my bills like internet, cable, and food etc. It also lets me spend money on partying every Thursday.

It's just that the cost of living is lower where I live lol.

I could also live a minimalist existence off $7000 a year, and that's with very little spending money. That means no car, school, or health insurance. It also means a room mate. At least we have the metro bus smile.

As for my pocket, I have a wallet in my pocket and $82 in my wallet.

lol I live comfortably off $12,000 a year.

But $100,000 counts as upper middle class in the Midwest. In New York or California, however, you'd be poor with that amount of money. It depends where in the US you live, because the cost of living varies. Where I live, a typical house is $100k, and a 5,000 sq ft home is 600-800k. In California, a shack is going to be at least $800k. Here, you can also live pretty nice on 50k/year as an individual, and with $100k you're living the high life.

the middle class would have to make over 100k to be middle class these days and the average income excluding the ultra rich is less than 30k per year.
so a tax break to the middle class would include very few people.>>

$100,000? That's upper middle class. They are people who generally have professional degrees and work professional jobs, like doctors and lawyers.

<<@ justinian

dude why are you going to vote for Obama? from what iv read about you through your posts you are mostly conservative. This cant be about "bipartisanship" and other crap like that because bipartisanship is a complete lie.  even if you agree with obama on one major issue there are still hundreds of other things that the man will be able to affect.  he will levy taxes, appoint justices, block spending bills (or worse APPROVE THEM), and a myriad of other things on his liberal agenda.>>

I'm voting for Obama because I just don't care anymore. Because of the economic hit that has devalued my family's assets, my confidence in the Republican party has been extinguished. I am now really tired of their misguided idealism, and this was demonstrated with the debate last night when McCain really only reinforced what he said. I sensed that Obama was more intelligent and had more strategic sensibility. I can't say what he will do exactly, but it's a gamble I'm willing to take knowing that McCain is a faithful member of a method that isn't working and can't even defend his position.
