@Gondor your processor AMD or Intel? I has problems with sotfware 32 bits for GIS.... Do you got all drivers?

I have 64 Bit. Tis kind of annoying because some games and programs dont like you using it tongue

I have an AMD Turion64 X2 (My Laptop)

The only drivers it didn't automatically find (and I can't find although i haven't looked hard) are for my SD Card reader.

The issues i've had with Windows 7 are mainly slow responses to opening some programs and divx movies watched through firefox or on the divx player are all choppy. Once i save the file and play it with Windows Media Player it is fine. 

Oh, sometimes when i close the lid to my laptop (set to not go to sleep/hibernate) and then open it later i just get a black screen with vertical light gray lines on it. That might be my laptop though. A hard reboot solves the problem

Yes, I has problem with XP... my laptop AMD Turion 64 Tl-62 with Window Vista and as had problems in my job intranet and other more... down XP 32 bits... and problems with sounds, memory (1 gb lost) not hibernation....  Yes...

When i installed XP on mine i had problems with the sound also. Mine has HD audio and that was the problem. Just have to make sure you have the right drivers (I don't remember how i fixed it tongue I think it was finding the right driver)

32 bit only sees 3.2-3.5gigs of RAM even if you have 4gigs installed. So 3.5GB minus your Video Cards used memory (256MB for me)

64bit you get full use of your ram big_smile I've got 8GB's of RAM in my tower running Vista64 Ultimate tongue
