TWO Times he did what was best for the country.....
Election nigh 1960,
and avoiding impeachment and resigning the presidency..... He might have been impeached by the House, but it was likely he would avoid a trial in the Senate.

He hadn't been impeached yet. The House was in the process of doing that. If he had been impeached he most certainly would have went to trial in the Senate because that is the whole point of being impeached. To bring about charges. The next step of the process is the trial in the Senate where a guilty verdict means that he would have been removed from office. In the history of this country, only 2 presidents have been impeached. Both were aquitted in the Senate.
