1.....the Right to bear arms is in the US Constitution. The right to assemble w/those arms is also covered. Its the peoples right over a govt.
If you miss the basic of freedoms.....then you missed it. People kill people....not guns.<
I'm not sure I said guns kill people, I said (Something along the lines of) if you carry a gun, then I will 'to protect myself', then when the 'midden hits the windmill', the stakes will be raised too high and someone will probably get shot. 'In self defence'. If guns were relatively unavailable, then the stakes wouldn't be so high, and would bashing be the worst that happened (Probably not, but there you are).
Basics of freedom? Any decent definition of freedom needs a definition of consequences. If you're old enough to drink, I may stop you from drinking out of a kindness (At least to your liver and potentially give you an extra few months of your life). But your freedom has been curtailed. And what about John Smith from Whoop Whoop walking down the street and blunders into the middle of a gun fight between 'two people in self defence' and gets shot... What about his freedom to walk down the street safely? Whoops, maybe he should have carried a gun and shot the first two... But now Shiela Star from the Back of Burke gets shot, curtailling her freedom... Bah. What do you need em for anyway?
>3. Kick out the UN HQ in NYC, and send it packing. I give a SHIT less what the world thinks of the US.
4. Sure Russia and China have as much right to S. America........ Just as the US has the right to tell the to Stay the F away, or else...<
Typical Yank attitude. No wonder the world hates them. I know I won't be getting my cricket balls from over the back fence.
>5. Yes. Kill the bastard smugglers that make it a business of violating the US Border.
Thats Human smugglers, drug smugglers, etc. ..... To clarify in case you missed my point.<
I'm thinking of the Bali Bombers who were executed today... And I'm not particularly happy about that, even though they *may* have deserved it... Two ways of looking at the death penalty. One is the humane argument (It's barbaric to kill someone... Who are you to say they deserve to die... Etc...) the other is the actual punishment argument (What would you rather? Be shot and be done with it, or sit in a cell for a hundred years knowing that the world has forgotten about you... I would think the latter is more of a punishment). And what's going to happen next? More retaliation. Wait! The American way! Preemptive strike, p*ss more people off! Get more people desperate to try things, ie people and drug smuggling.
The best way to keep them out is to give them a carrot to stay at home... Employment, good life for their families, regional stability... Than to try to dodge the stick, which they evidently get away with. Sometimes.
>6. Yes. Just that way. Just like we supplied the Muslims that drove out the Soviets. Yes.<
Oh, yes yes. I see how that worked. Now you're trying to kick the Taliban out... So you might as well have had the Soviets in there still... But they would have withdrew when they pulled out of the entire region... But then you got attacked by the Taliban... Or at least that's why you invaded Afghanistan... Wasn't it?
Not too sure about all of this Palin bashing... It was McCain who chose her for VP, and I don't blame the idea behind the choice either... Trying to grab the women voters who wanted Hillary but couldn't find themselves to vote for Obama (Being a nasty campaign battle or something)... Was there a better choice? (Well, maybe, but I didn't follow that closely).
