wow, where did you all go to college? In mine, I had to study every single day - at one point, I was pulling 1 allnighter every week just to finish off my work.

yep, exactly why Justinian's University must be trash. even if he is a freshmen, he should have a big enough workload where he is doing 40+ hours of homework a week. if he isnt a freshmen, 70+

Re: Pathetic americans

I never learnt formal speedreading but i never put in a 12 hr day in college except finals weeks

I have to study and on occassion I've had to pull an all nighter but that's because I'm a terrible procrastinator.  My profs are simply more concerned with whether we know and understand the material (tests) than if we can present it in a way that is pretty with lots of colours (projects).

There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Re: Pathetic americans

i say pathetic world, we all had a say in letting this happen, but most just want to sit back and blame some one and do nothing.
everyone wants a perfect world, but also, no one is willing to get up and bleed for it, or be chastised for it, or even speak out for it......
you think the world is going to fix it's self for some reason.... or the same old parties that we have been voting in for years aren't doing business as usual.... wake the F up.

theres plenty of people willing to bleed for a perfect world, to be chastised for the perfect word, and to speak for the perfect world, the problem is that we cant agree on what is a perfect world, so all the bleeding, chastising, and speaking dont accomplish anything, noob.

Re: Pathetic americans

well,,,, do the same thing that the American fore fathers did.... find the common ground, and fight for it, then the world can change.
otherwise stfu, and be the "passive aggressive let it happen" that you are.
we only want our constitution back, once we got that... you can go fight for your own.... but remember we fought and died for your freedom, and you just handed it back to your oppressors, so we don't believe you when you speak fight the good fight.
so we will fight our own, if you join us, then you have a say, if you don't, then your just a Queen loving bitch.

Re: Pathetic americans

bs, forefathers didnt find a common ground. acouple warmongers attacked abunch of soliders; and then everyone else was like oh [The fmods owned me before I even knew it!], we're going to get raped by the british once they find out about this.... hmmm, it wasnt so hard for those few guys to make the redcoats retreat, maybe we could repel the redcoats so we wont get raped...

and we have our constitution...

Re: Pathetic americans

no offence

I liv ein europe and always follow american elections because it's so funny.

basicly it's republican vs democrats and the presidentcandidate they put forward is only an image.

I wonder how many americans just vote for a party for the candidate without even looking at the points they bring up for their campaign.

I think the problem is situated around education. public schools with teachers that are protected by their union and thus give bad teaching and private schools that are only for the richer and richest who of course get a succesfull career etc.

problem: poor stay poor, rich get richer.

private schooling is available to the working class. i went to a private school, and although there were acouple rich snobs, the majority was middle class, and there were some working class.

theres also some great public schools and alot of great teachers at public schools. if anything its the attitude the kids have in public schools, its poor parenting.

it doesnt matter if people look at the points the candidates make. the candidates hold a very similar platforms.

aside from taxes, spending, and foreign policy but those are insignificant issues   wink.

@Soth

thats what the TV says hombre.  the reality of the situation is that they're all in the pockets big business and anything either of them will do will go to benefit those fat cats.  yes they have "different platforms" but thats just for the idiots so they have something to put on their pins, sweatshirts, lawn signs, etc.

Re: Pathetic americans

@420

I agree with you, to a degree.  Yes most of the things that these candidates are saying will not be put into action if they were elected.  but to say that they are in the pockets of big business is just a foolish stereotype.

stereotypes become so because they have a certain amount of truth.  so im not saying that there have been, and are, politicians that have felt obligated to large contributors.  but to apply that stereotype with a wide paintbrush is foolish and unproductive.

Re: Pathetic americans

the day i see otherwise is the day i put away my paintbrush.  for now however, i feel that im justified in using it.  just look at what big business is allowed to do and get away with. murder even.  if i shoot you, thats criminal, if i expose you to a chemical that i know is harmful over a long period of time....well shit, i was just trying to make a buch of loot, i had no idea (puppydog eyes)

Re: Pathetic americans

the truth is big business is good for a nation.  even for the working class.  granted we have learned that regulation is needed.  but i completely disagree with your attitude towards every entity that fits a certain profile.

thats just for show. example. Bush and republicans in general are supposed to be-pro-life, at one point they had presidency, house of reps, and senate; and they didnt make a single attempt to make abortion illegal.

That's because democracy is not an ideology. It constantly demands more from itself, more liberties, more justice, more from the economy. There will never be a point in time where it does not have a demand upon itself. Because that demand is perfection, which we all know that is something we can never attain.

It also doesn't help that the american government is a two party system offering little to no change.

Re: Pathetic americans

i think people dont fully understand the American two party system.  The two dominate parties we have are the most likely to win, thus making it extremely difficult for any other party to gain power in any higher office.

Those two parties have not been the same over their entire existence.  they are constantly changing and adopting policies from varies third parties.  they are not the same parties of twenty years ago or even ten years ago!

It isn't impossible for a third party to win.  it is very difficult to do because of the mentality of the majority of americans (oh God people are so stupid some times we should really have some sort of IQ test before you can vote).  they consider it a waste of a vote to vote for a third party.  because everyone thinks that it is a waste of a vote to vote for a  3rd party.
