Re: The Stock Watchers!

we all require technology - so there will be demand for tech and energy products. and the companies BW listed are stable in terms of profits in the next 2 years, I'd think.

And I take my previous comment about General Motors back - yes, they probably would not make it as a company. I still like their current direction of car development though. Huh, I wonder if it might make the developments away from internal combustion cars easier?

Re: The Stock Watchers!

GM is betting the farm on the Volt.

A car that requires a battery that has a 500 recharge cycle limit?

How do you feel about a new $5000 battery every 2 to 3 years?

Re: The Stock Watchers!

The electric cars are a gamble. But I think it is worth it.

And the batteries would not die every 2 to 3 years - if they are done properly. Maybe within 10 years - but then 5000$ for a battery is fine, you got to pay just as much for maintainance for a normal car.
OH - and there is the big big big big difference, which is a huge advantage for the Volt concept. People pay over 5000 just for a good-looking spoiler. Other tunings, just to make the car look cool, could easily cost more. How much would I pay for the feeling of driving the future? I am not old and I want the "New Toy." You can go and play with the "old toy," but only if you are over 40.
My problem is that I would rather invest all of the money I have and I would not have extra. Anyhow - it'd take at least 5 years minimum to roll out a fully functional model, so I am in no hurry.

I am all-in on electrics.

Re: The Stock Watchers!

yes, the companies BW posted have a nice outlook, and should post some nice profits but other than that Han, they are de-valued, almost all stocks are de-valued
and only at the price they're at right now because of the panic and massive sell-offs we've seen in the last couple of days

like take my fav stock in the TSX right now, BBD.B/BBD.A - Bombardier, an aerospace and train manafacturing company, the third largest plane manafacture
they recieved 3 big contracts, and an extension of a contract last week, if last week was normal, the stock price would've jumped through the roof, however due to the market conditions the stock fell from $8 a share to near $3.50 a share last week... these stocks ARE de-valued

Re: The Stock Watchers!

Bombardier?

Without constant government handouts they wouldn't last 2 years.

Re: The Stock Watchers!

they are the third largest airplane manafacturer =S
have a big market share in bullet trains, subways, monorails and the systems they run on
have orders and contracts coming in left right and centre
not to mention their continuous improovement in older models and making newer models to cater to more airline's needs..

Re: The Stock Watchers!

screw stocks, they don't mean anything, by the time the common man acts on them, the damage is done, if you invest in them do the same thing a day trader that was telling me (that made $2000 a day at it) sell it all at the end of the day, that way there are no surprises, and only the rich get screwed.
all of your money will be in the back of your pocket, and they'res will be in the wind.

Re: The Stock Watchers!

gaming stocks are just about the worst thing that you can invest in...

Re: The Stock Watchers!

Except Blizzard has been going up continuously until the economic crap happened but now its raising again. Its the most secure gaming stock to invest in easily plus every game I listed is a huge hit. Mark my words, in a year the stock will have been a great one to invest in.
