BW, i am not blaming the current financialmarket crisis on Bush, because i know that the government is not reposible for it. A very active socialist government would probably have been able to avoid it, but that would have brought along too much regulation of other aspects, so in total it wouldnt be worth it.

BUT, republicans and GWB has the responsibility for the massive increase in military spending, budget deficits and to an extent high petroleum price. Thats a responsibility that cannot be lifted. And thats money that could either be saved, or spent elsewhere, like education or healthcare.
