gladiator, i dont think being a good public speaker is a bad thing, i just think its a quality that doesnt make him qualified that has helped him get this far.
also, Hitler would never of been able to accomplish what he did if he wasnt a great public speaker.
Is it a bad thing though? From my point of view, being a good orator can only bring you advantages.
On the other hand, I must say I'd love to see a Bush Jr./Quayle presidency. I'd laugh my ass off.
Soth, he writes his speeches, McCain has a teleprompter there in front of him all the time, he still sucks ASS .. so i'm guessing it's safe to say, obama can atleast make use of his words better than McCain can...(WAY WAY better)..it also might be safe to say, that i'd rather watch grass grown than watch McCain say anything,

Come on guys, lets stop the violence." --> that is not how i see it, as i see it, and as obama sees it(from what i understand of him and have seen of him) is that violence and war should be the last resort, where as, republicans and bush have and will continue to use with mccain, violence as the first option

OFFCOURSE, if a country will not comply with your resquests, and you have tried your best to solve things without using force and it still doesn't work, you offcourse have to use violence.but to not even consider any other option, is just stupid..
Gen he was using a tele-prompter for the most part, there were parts where he wasn't
but if you listen to his stump speeches, he is not using a teleprompter and is equally if not more effective..
I'll link tomorrow to the report that Obama has a teleprompter everytime, even in a rodeo

War as a last resort? No we should pursue the least costly and profitable option. But yes Bush is an idiot, precisely because his actions are not optimally profitable. Rather they are very costly. He doesn't know when to be aggressive and when not to.

100's of deaths a day vs. the risk of your plane crashing
you decide, which one is more costly, war or talking

they only make him use one, when it's absolutely critical to stay on message, like right now, with the economic crisis, but this is the same thing with mccain
if you listen to any of his small stump speeches, with only a couple 20-50 people, he doesn't use a teleprompter

Talking often fails you know. It works great when you're not involved, when you're mediating as a 3rd party
but direct diplomacy often fails
oh it often fails, lets not try it then at all
that's what i'm saying is wrong...not even trying to talk to enemies, and just assuming "oh it will fail, send out the tanks and the guns"
that's exactly what mccain will do, and his anger is also an issue, i know it might seem silly but it is still a valid point that his anger will offcourse play a part in his judgements..

and you proove my point again, you're still assuming all those things wouldn't work, we have never actually tried them so how can we know for sure? and a man with a gun? you bring a bigger gun to the table, you pressure the enemy, after talking with them like gentlemans, but before you do that you have to gain back the respect for america that bush has lost in the last 8 years
there is probably not a nation out there, that doesn't think america is an ass 
you gain that trust and respect back, we won't have many enemies
i'm not saying everything is america's fault and america is horrible, NO, i'm not saying that at all

It's just like in IC. Sometimes you gotta sign a nap. Sometimes you gotta clear systems. We don't have a full yama and infil reports on iran though so it's kinda hard to decide which we should actually be leaning towards.
