That's a good idea, but in a game, people are gonna trash talk a lot of times just for fun. I know even with my off line friends, we trash talk each other for fun. And one guy's answer for everything is "your mother." He's kidding, I know he's kidding. Oddly enough, when it came my turn to be on the receiving end of it, I wasn't the one that brought up my mom, my best friend did that. It was during a shadow run game and I was all like "that's ok, cuz my mom is on the astral plane pwnin yer asses. tongue "  But I guess I've learned to cope with it differently than hornblower.

There is something critical with what you said: "off line friends", "best friend" - they know your situation, they know what kind of jokes you can tolerate, they know your personality, they know you won't get upset

However, I see more often people making real life character comments (negative) on people they don't know ... how one plays a game is not enough for someone to make generalizations about one's true character (whether it's meant to be a joke/or because you are angry). However, it does say alot about the people making these comments, in my opinion at least.

Actually, out of that group, only my best friend actually knew my mom had passed on. He had to tell that to the guy making the jokes.
