I think this is where a lot of where the problem lies in IC today, sadly.  No player initiative.  You guys expect the Mods to do everything.  Hell, I was even the one to message you, to see why you weren't leading - despite ICD telling me that you and him both would be doing this. Everytime ICD comes to me with an Idea, I tell him we're not against anything and that he can create a thread to gain support.  Next thing I know, I get called lazy, lol.

Render, Warchild UK were exceptions to this.  They actually show initiative and get stuff done.  ICD been similar as of late, at least he's trying hard to affect change.

You guys forget, that we're players too.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

tbh you came up with the idea, and just made it this way tor,

i was happy to have drafting, and not being leader this round, and draft myself into the lowest ranked team, and play my way from there,

in the end we do it this way, it will still be like always, active will land in 1 or 2 fams, and less in the others, because no drafting people make multi account and join to try to make it in the team,

realisticly there isnt even 8 active leaders, so we should just change it up, to maybe 2-6 teams and 1 month round, shake things up a bit, imo

well i deleted from SB due to inactivity of others smile and now i sit outside of the gal and w8 for new one.
"vets" should change the way they think. it doesn't matter if you are top 5 fam, if you don't have fun, at least do your best in this game. a lot of players are crying....omg they do this, it was that, make something!!!

i know 3 fams who made that.


and Torqez can't you verify the accounts that have multiple deletes in the same round (accounts of multi that want to land in a specific fam)? and block that mail for registration. i know is some work, but maybe it will solve something. clear the accounts, i saw in SB a fam with 1 big guy, and the others 6 players with 1200 NW. delete those smile)

I think you seriously overestimate how this will turn out.  Smaller number of fams is not the answer.  The discrepency will be too huge, and you can't do anything.  We've tried small number of fams before, and we've tried smaller number of players per fam too - niether work well.

Unfortunately, we have a tonne of problems, which largely arise due to the less players we have.  In an ideal world, we'd bring back 20 players per fam.  Now that was fun!

yeh i agree. in a ideal world we would have more players and more family's, but lets make do with what we have.

Run with 8 leaders, with 10 spots per family, You may say that's to many, i disagree since once u take out a few inactives and multis ul end up with about 7-8 per family anyway, rather then making it 8 size, then actually ending up with only 4-5 players for BOR.

Just run with it, open it and lets play all this keyboard trash is highly boring tongue

this might not work, people will use their multi akkounts to try and random in other fam, and in the end you'll have 1 player aktive in 1 fam and his several multi akkounts inaktive or spying in several other fams. That's always been the ruin of this game.

Also why are you guys kapping it at 8 leaders? if you have more leaders give it a try, 10 or 12 leaders would be perfekt, with fam size of 6 or 7.

Its more easy than it seems, just kount the aktive players that have posted in this thread but arent applying for leader, those are mostly aktive members, so you should spare them randomly 1 in eazh fam, its the way to be sure at least 2 people in every fam will be aktive, so balanzed konditions for all, despite all the sukers using multi akkounts and suzh

I have been off and on since the betas.  I think this is something I have wanted to see for quite some time now.  Get tired of people joining a family and deleting.  I have been both leader and normal player.  I play to have fun and just want things as fair as can be.  This ought to be done in one galaxy every round.

6-7 players per fam is not an ideal!!!!!

more than 10 is good because of differences in timezones and can team up nicely.....but with 6-7, u may have trouble coordinating

however, if every player live in same country, then 6-7 players per fam is just fine

i would say cap it at 10, with a hope to get an average of 7-8 per family, with 10 familys.

Vegnarok i was in this position in SB. i was the only european in an american family, and even if i was active, due to time difference and other things, i ended up having no fun, with nobody to talk, and in the final i deleted, even if the fam was on top 5.

this round in SB we had like 7 top fams, and rest inactives. make it 8 now, split like render said and give it a shot.
and get some more oldies back !!!

great...tbh this shouldnt be starbust anyway, they should keep sb as a play with freinds (draft) galaxy, make this a new one, with no delete function, no drafts lada lada...

i just want to play smth that doesnt invlove 1man familys...

Devilz we talked about this days before the war.. lol u got bad memory.. and this idea is a good idea.. u split up and remove delete options and u should have a interesting setup.. something no one can predict.. and remove PNAPS.. or have leaders agree to not do PNAPs

Not only that, but no offense - but some of those people mentioned/volunteered to be leaders are kind of temperemental players.  I have a very good recollection of them being committed or not, based on who lands in their family. 

So yea, these kinda problems also exist.

OK guys so I've done this for you, 8 fams of 9 players. How does it look?

Team# --> Leader, VL1, VL2, Others

Team1 -->  ICDeath, Crioz, Asher, Stiks, Klepto, Beowolfe
Team2 --> Glue, Torqez, Hoffman, LG, Kronik09, AbsolutMandarin
Team3 --> Lee, Airwing, Homestead, Tomat0, NME, Kron
Team4 --> Devilz, RareUK, Varlokas, Kingstamp, Murderfaze, MightyOz
Team5 --> Flashy, Mizzle, Forever, Rizzy, Aeonfluz, Meija
Team6 --> Weedkillers, Vegnarok, Gefilte, Exzeed, WhiteHeaven, Looping
Team7 --> Cloud, Cumsville, Dimpel, Blakhand, xelus, Beers
Team8 --> Arby3, MJ, Easyway, Myself, MajorError, Shawn (venom)

I just gathered the info in uni news, the active players posting in uni are all in the teams above, the 8 leaders I elected are those from the leaders list I think will do better.
The setup is done the way every family has (at least) 3 proved active players (leader + VLs) to make it balanced.
The players would be placed manually by mods and then open 3 more spots in every fam for randoms. Then if the gal ever gets filled up add an eztra spot.

The 8 leaders should do a meeting in a irc channel (lets call it Galaktik Kongress tongue ) to settle the aspects of the round, size of map, lenght of round, #of systems, system size, set an agreement about the NAPs limits (disallow PNAPs?), etc...
