You fool! 35% is just fine in an SS galaxy. Anything higher would be unrewarding for those who put in effort in infra.

It's kind of fun but kind of not this SS gal....

on the one hand you want to fight - get fleet and then hammer people.

But to do that successfully and not hamper your progress in the rankings for NW it's very hard.

I almost got caught up in a war early on - my ranking dropped and it was just a tit for tat war where neither of us had enough income or fleet to successfully hold planets.

Now I quit that war I am back on track and in the top 5.

But now lots of people are out of my NW range / attacking range with people my own NW very far away from me....

something else needs to be done with this gal IMO

Then once you have a high enough NW you attack players within your range.

BUT now as you are all so close you all have a very similar fleet (unless you are stupid) and it's just a tit for tat situation again!

Nice post Var.  I hear what you're saying Dead -- it takes a lot more forethought because you have to plan targets decently in advance and have to pay attention to NW rules.  IMO it's still not bad because if we bigger empires raided the small guys to nothing, this galaxy of 80 people would shrink to a galaxy of 10 or so very fast.

Alas, I am too far away to have fun with that. 

You two have fun.  Of course, you could pull the whole 'starburst' strategy and delete your fleet to become under 35% of his NW at war time.  That's always fun.

War is over. Almost the same size, almost identical jumps. Classic stalemate...Devilz outjumped my figs (barely) and I outjumped his ground (barely). After playing cat and mouse for a day, ruining many shiny figs, we ended it for greener pastures.

Honestly, I think Devilz would have won eventually, but he let me off easy.
