These are not bought, steam provides free games to people who buy enough, by chance they gifted me a game i already bought =/

Ok so then how did i get a copy of civilization 4 (I own civ 5 but not civ 4 on steam, I have it on cd) and this 'bonus' copy of enemy unknown?

It was located in my gift section, only 2 'friends' right now on Steam...

They do give out free games from time to time, however i think you need 100£$€ worth of games in your steamlist to accept and play those gifts.

IIRC, Civ 4 was given out to those who owned Civ 5 already because they stuffed up something with the expansion and some sale.

Also I think XCOM was given free for some pre-order tier bonus, or just came with some other game you had bought by the same dev/publisher, IDK.


I'm not disputing that you can't get free games from Steam, just that you don't get them randomly for free with no reason. tongue You don't get any freebies for owning X amount of games or spending Y amount of money either.

I think the last couple games within recent history that Steam actually gave out for free were Portal and Faerie Solitaire..

you might be right, I pre-ordered the coming x-com game after purchasing the full previous pack of x-com games. And I did get brave new world for Civ-5 and it is wtf bad X(

I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....
