Customs are better imo but its all about how you play.

Longer rounds due to research but still I think it depends on how you play.

Secure a tight core of planets and infra whore on them or spread out and actually do something? Dont like the Quantums for that...

the start is the 2nd of April.
I know you euros put the day first ( 2/4/13 ),
