Yea....mandatory [crap] courses in college.  Like Humanities, philosophy, art  and to some extent for me, English all at the 101 and 102 Level.

For one, I was able to write just fine.  I was also quite apt at Speech 101 as well, toss that in.  I was addressing large assemblies already, as I was quite a good speaker, and able to deliver a presentation to my fellow soldiers.

But let's stick to motivation, and use the other thread for education discussion. I intended actually to dezcrive my astonishment that the described was your motivation. I was actually expecting some Homo homini lupus or anti-establishment idea. Or do those not come into play for you? Because you generally are very convinced about how things should be done and run. Don't those play in your daily lives as part of your motivation? Or are they just modalities, ways of how you execute your prime and only passion, being your family? I'm genuinely interested, believe me. 

lol, I'm running money and half of my finance classes were a waste of time, not to mention many others - I'm certainly with BW on that one.  One can only learn the same theory that doesn't work in practice so that "one understands the market" (with a theory that doesn't work) so many times.

Learning is great, unfortunately, I usually learned much more on my own all through college and after than I did from all but 3-4 of my professors.

I have explained many times.  At the university level, you have what I believe, in my humble Opinion (IMHO), are the bottom of the given field.

You have the losers of Engineering teaching basic college math.  You have failed writers and journalists teaching basic English.  You have failed biologists, and chemists teaching basic science.  You have "Women's Studies" and "Environmental Studies" and "Humanities" majors all rolled directing back into Academia.

Ofcourse their failures in life are the fault of the evil corporations and the Rich who are to stupid to realize their brilliant understanding of the world.  They are so upset, and angry at "The Man" that they are now Firmly embedded in the socialist camp.......that has firmly instilled in them the hatred of capitalism.  After their failure in life, they realize how correct their Socialist upbringing through academia was after all.  So, they roll back into the "tenured" cushion of their University elited brotherhood.

Here are your Freshman and Sophomore level "Professors" after years under the cloak of "tenure" teaching the young mush minds the so called "Core" courses in university.  After years of UFT lead socialist indoctrination through K - 12 years of Education, they (the young mush minds) roll right into college to meet the Academia Elite.

The Academia Elite even get you isolated in Dorms, and away from family to further the indoctrination process.  The focus is on the young dults to learn how evil corporations are out to enslave the masses and ruin the environment, so they can live in mansions isolated from the inner cities that breed their slave labor force.  And, how "The Man" or the "Corporate" wing called the right "Uses" and "abuses" the poor and forces them into military service to secure their international investments.

But wait,....there is a savior.......the Socialists of the left wing of politics will Punish the Rich and Punish the Evil Corporations through the process of TAXATION, and distribute this found wealth to the enslaved masses.  Along the way ....they will take their "Collection fee."  After all, someone needs to be compensated to distribute this booty.  Might as well be the Leftist-Elitist Politicals who after all know how to inflate a "Budget" better than anyone else alive. 

The will give "Free Health Care" and "Free University Education"  Imagine that.  They will give "Free Housing" and "Free" what ever... .... Maybe cars ? Maybe transportation ?  Maybe even a free trip to the voting booth.....if the vote Leftist ??

As far as I know, being made a professor is an honour and all people that teach in regular schools chose for it as far as I know (maybe america doesn't have a specialised teacher's educational program (it's a 3 years course over here)..

Oh, they do. Just a few months ago they pushed microsoft into supporting XP longer then planned.

Mac OSX is the worst OS ever spread. Atleast Microsoft was original in their design. Sure their development is shite but 98SE and all previous OS's were amazing to start with. And XP Pro SP2 is an awesome stabilized OS.

BW, in the end you come to a compromise. That's what everyone does. And sure, you can set terms, but most of the employers do too. And if you walked out on most of your clients, you go bankrupt and that's that. In the end, you're dependent of your clients too.

Many years of experience, I know how to word it.  The Compromise is made before I receive the first payment.
If the client breaks that contract. . .

Those who walk out on "Most of their clients" obviously are not good businessmen.

Of course BW, if you don't offer a service that customers like then they won't sign any contracts to begin with, unless they are stupid americans who sign without thinking...

Thus you have a responsibility to provide a high level of service/goods or else the customer won't come back... or be cheaper (or both) so in the end you are dictated by the customer... that is the fun thing about open market economics, the buissnessman should actually have no say... however this breaks down in reality and we get what we have today...
