"The most intelligent and most ethical individuals perceive the following first: due to the systemically unjust structure of civilization, the pursuit and fulfillment of individual economic opportunity inevitably comes at the expense of economic opportunity of others."
Bogus except in the highly rhetorical sense that the electric energy we burnt in this thread COULD HAVE gone to African nuseries in a hypothetical nonexistent system of power distribution, so, presuming what does not exist is morally superior to what does exist, and confers real guilt on people who can't bring it about, you killed babies by typing that.
"Now, because it is the most intelligent and most ethical individuals who realise this first, they are thus the first to refrain from pursuing their own economic opportunities. This, however, only results in the less ethical, less intelligent individuals fulfilling their economic opportunities and gaining political power, which in turn leads to yet more systemic injustice. Ultimately, there is a process by which levels of systemic injustice increase exponentially as more and more intelligent and ethical individuals become aware of what is happening and thus likewise refrain from pursuing their economic opportunity. "
Looking back, the University itself is a development that has always undermined and corrupted the societies that raise it. Case in point - if you hadn't gone to university, you couldn't use all those syllables. You'd have to come right out and say it: "Real Men Don't Work". This blue-collar expression of contempt for those who do work would be instantly understandable and society would impose sanctions on you, instead of offering respect for proposing indescipherable ethical pablums - because university encourages everyone to seek the limits of their own understanding, in the vain belief that people who go farther that others in acquiring understanding are really better people; so, to be confused presumably means one has encountered a superior being. In fact, silly assedness is just as confusing as quantum physics.
The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.
