the why is simple, so smaller fams (in ammount of people) can grow just as well big fams can. if they both would be equally as good as another. now the bigger fam steamroles the other simply cuz they got more people to play with.

if u want competition to stay up even if a fam has less players "taxing" helps the less fortunate keep up

Maybe they were closer to being even, and people deleted? I haven't been keeping track of it since I was at work, but that may be the case.

Arby: A very strict mod, reminds me of a fat redneck who drives a truck around all day with a beer in one hand. I hated this guy at the start, however, I played a round in PW with him where he went as an anonymous player. Our fam got smashed up and everyone pretty much left. Arby stayed around and helped out the remaining family. At the end of the round he revealed himself.... My views on him have changed since. Your a good guy.....

I disagree paininside, you dont want to tax the larger families for the sake of keeping small fams nearer to them..
The ideas i put forth are enough imo, anything more would lead to there being too big of a punishment on the big families.. We need to keep a reason for there being econ or half the game goes out the window...

your logic is flawed humidity... your saying we would be punishing the big fams, its bullshit, they allready have the advantidge of having more start resources, more people to build on what makes it cheaper to keep growing for them midround, cheaper explo costs (and more ships) then small fams. why would this be better?!

We want more compeition right? why do you advertise for more farming? cuz thats whats happening, and it has nothing to do with skills, or eco...  if the smaller fam has better eco (per planet/player avarage) then the big fams, but purely cuz they got less people they stil get but kicked why is that fair?

then ok, lets do it this way , we wont call it a tax for the bigger, but well give the smaller a discount instaid. would that suit your ears better?

Why not delete the delete button permanently?  No deleting, ever, even after round starts...

I mean I am no developer or programmer or anything, but how hard could it be to just delete a delete button from the code?  If it is the simplest way to even up teams, can we please just do that until they figure out a better, permanent, more complicated solution like this big fam tax notion?

I agree that the delete button should just be removed... if someone has a genuine excuse of why Ghey shouldn't play the fam they landed they can bring it up with a mod... mass deleting is too often happening...

No my logic is spot on... from the outset I never wanted big fams to have any change to thiervgame that would disadvantage them.. I just wanted to remove the current disadvantages small families have.. I think the ideas I outlayed does exactly that..

bringing in a new tax to stop the higher families growing does not achieve this. it hurts top fams just for the sake of keeping families close together...

www e don't want to punish econ.. effectively if the big fam Is spending the time and effort planning their starts they deserve to be first.. having a huge tax on top of that is just pointless...


Killas as for the starting rez idea, I beleieve when a player is killed or deletes all his rez should go to the leader ss well as 5 ticks of his income from the tick before he deleted...... that way families still benefit from inactive and aren't damaged so much at bor when half their fam is inactive....

Also paininside one last note... I do not advertise farming, read ny first post unless you've just missed the whole idea? tongue..
implement the ideas on page one.. and if there is still a massive discrepancy between top fams and small fams before wars start then I will be the first to advocate more measures.. but I think what I have put forward on page one is.more than enough to achieve the goals we want : less farming, more even teams...
