you know what absolutely pissed me off when the refree stopped the game twice

when spain had lots of space..most italian defenders were up

and an italian toni and de rossi i think (happened twice) --stayed down pretending to be hurt

and refree stops the play like WTF?? and as soon as they heard the whistle they shot back up

Gladiator, you don't have to explain to me why teams win and progress in tournaments. I know why. I was just saying that it pisses me off, because there's no way you can say that teams like Turkey or Russia, etc, have played better than the Croats or Dutch... come on, judging by what you said, you should understand that it takes a lot to beat the Germans the way the Croats did, or beat BOTH World Cup finalists in succession by three goals each like the Dutch did.

I know this has nothing to do with anything, but why do Americans and non native English speakers who have learnt American English say "could care less". In  Britain we say "couldn't care less" because if you couldn't care less about something you mustn't care about it at all. However, if you could care less about something, then clearly you must care about it to some degree, which isn't what you mean. Use proper English!

In Americanese you truly Could Care Less.  You could Straight Up Not Give A F*** at which point the repercussions spin.  But you're not there yet.  You DO give a f***.  You could care less.

spain was the only one attacking, you don't win championships by sitting in the back, and when getting the ball kick it up and let spain attack again

spain had some very good chances, yes i admit like i did before that italy stuck to their defence, they played it good, mainly because they had more than 8 people playing back and defending, but other than that they kept every spanish person covered...even with that much defence

you would think spain would've given the ball up or have it taken from them and have italy captialize on those opportunities, they didn't.
Spain produced the best and about the only goal scoring opportunities, they held on to the ball even with the tight defence, they had more possesion, they capitalized on the breaks they got, sadly enough the refree didn't give some crucial fouls against italy, i saw atleast one foul in the box and the commentators and the ESPN  peeps agreed -- and the refree also kept on stopping big breaks spain got when most of italy's players were at the spanish goal cuz italy's players were faking an injury

like honestly spain should've won that game in normal time even with the defence, but luck really wasn't with them atleast as far as the refereeing goes

nah ive always hated both italy are greasy whereas french are..... french

and just for the record, i dont hate italy. france, or more likely Henry, i cannot stand. i have been rooting for spain since it started. ofc, if england had some skill and qualified, it would be a whole new matter...
