if you know smoking will kill you and you still smoke, why would you stop when your doctor tells you it will kill you and to stop? especially if your doctor is getting paid to get you to stop smoking, i'd take his advice alot less seriously. also, do you think doctor's in the US dont advise their patients to stop smoking or loose weight?

Well, someone mentioned earlier in the thread. Justinian I believe, that they would lose a lot of invested money if Obama were to become president. That pretty much tells the story of what's gonna happen with the election.

While this war is bringing in less revenue than what it is being spent, there are many americans who wholeheartedly support it because of the investments tied to it. While the overall economy of the United states is poor, the upper class of society is enjoying it completely.

So come election time, the people who have money invested in...politicians and political events, mafia and such, are going to be the ones who decide exactly which direction the country moves in.

Supposedly we are a "great" country, but our history is filled with so much crap including a nasty civil war based on free labor. It's pretty difficult to imagine that the majority of this country can care about anyone but themselves.
