Re: US exaggerating China threat?

They can try, they can educate, but nothing replaces hands on experience passed down over many prevailing years.  This is an issue you have not examined.

Furthermore there is more problems is using some rivers for a major construction (as an Air Craft Carrier is) than solutions. Then you must also consider that the United States also has much more coastline than your even considering, West Coast, East Coast... sure... Alaska and Hawaii as well though need to be considered. Finally what about allies? If China goes imperialistic, declares war for sake of treasure and lands, then would not traditional enemies of China join traditional friends of the United States for purposes of war? The total land on Ocean mass then far exceeds what China would likely be able to conquer for over 20 years assuming they some how held a land advantage.

However I think if China launches a war outside of Taiwan then other nations are going to assume they are next, and form a pre-emptive alliance tying them all together. So when you hit the next place, your going to find India's armies marching up the back, with US navies at your ocean side, while Russia sits back and laughs.

Re: US exaggerating China threat?

I don't see how China differs from the United States...

..Except maybe that China doesn't have military bases on the US doorstep.

Re: US exaggerating China threat?

STFU.
we have one thing to fear......
it is that when we ( NOT ME, the gov) are scared... what limits will we go to to feel safe.
NEWS FLASH "THE WORLD IS NOT SAFE"
and most of our enemies are because of our (US Gov) leaders been so very underhanded, even despicable.
and because of the way that their social network runs they think it that we are all the same... GO FIGURE.
as a human being, we should prove that wrong.
end the fight against each other and start the fight against stupid politics, and elitist, that just want us to serve them and go away... what if they had nothing... that they couldn't raise themselves... hee hee hee.. then the servant becomes the master.

I have examined it, and, on that point, I agree with you.  Is it enough of an advantage, though?

Looks like an interesting site.  Thanks, Einstein.

In spite of what the article says, I wouldn't lose sleep over the possibility of a war developing between the US and China.

Re: US exaggerating China threat?

China wouldn't be stupid enough to launch a surprise nuclear strike on the USA. The US counter attack would send them back to the stone age.

lol@east

@all:
in case there is no econ, food, or atomic problem for china they wouldn't stand a chance against a broad alliance. I agree with Einstein on that point, although I think an open war will never happen.

Re: US exaggerating China threat?

China's world domination policies don't include massing a nuclear arsenal to
annihilate the U.S. Of that i guarantee you.

Just like the Americans completely misunderstood Soviet doctrine in the 80s, they
will misunderstand the Chinese doctrine in the future.
