"A US-supporting Islamic nation"
Wasn't this tried with the Taliban and Saddam?
From what I know of US activities in the Middle East there is one simple lesson the American people should have learned by now, stay out of the Middle East.
It all reminds me of a rather colourful expression I once heard, "You can only trust an Arab when you've got his balls in one hand and his throat in the other."
"It all reminds me of a rather colourful expression I once heard, "You can only trust an Arab when you've got his balls in one hand and his throat in the other.""
I hope you don't actuall mean that. There was never a pro-islamic policy, rather a political/economic one. And that's the one every nation uses, all the time..

Then you're no damn better than any worthless forum spammer, except that you're an inherent double-standard because you enforce spam rules against others but not yourself.

Jordan, Kuwait, and Lebanon prove you wrong.
Jimmy Carter. he gave away the world's #1 toll booth.
why would we not vote for a specific party just because a single member of their party didnt do a good job as president? you do know that the democrats have control of congress and have been doing a horrible job, thats a hundred democrats doing a horrible job, compared to a single republican, Bush doing a horrible job. and then the State that is the worst off economically, Michigan, has had a democratic Governor since long before they started having their major economic problems.
using Bush's failures as a reason not to vote Republican isnt logical. All parties have their flaws and no two people are the same.
congress only recently became democratic. For the majority of bush's term, congress has been republican.
But anyways, whether or not mccain is republican is irrelevant. What's important is that he can pretty much kick the bucket at any moment =p
another thread about americans ![]()
can't you people make up your mind or something ...
1. if you don't agree with Bush, why did you re-elect him?
2. don't say you didn't vote for him because you simply neglected to vote at all, that's just as stupid as actually voting for him.
3. stop trying to make the world believe you are a great nation ... we already know you're not.
4. i need more alcohol X(

Some people can still disagree with him. Like those who didn't vote for him in the first place, or those who disagree with his actions post-election.

The hell? Make a new thread if you want.

congress has been controlled by the democrats for way over a year and they havent done anything they promised to do if they took control of congress.
and the fact of the matter is that almost all the time, republicans are better for the economy then democrats, so if the economy is what you're most concerned with, no matter your hatred of Bush, you would vote republican.
yeah but bush has vetoed everything that congress has set out to do lately.
Though you might be right about the economy thing, but just saying, you can't blame democratic congress for anything going on in the bush jr. era.
Oh and McCain is just a bad choice to vote for cause he's going to die in like a few weeks!!!!!!!

You know, there's this awesome little thing called a vice president. You might want to check out what they do. It's awesome!
I know all about the vice president. But then all he/she would do is clean up mccain's mess once he kicks the bucket!
I still don't see how war with Iran is going to help the economy. But McCain apparently thinks it will =p

the democrats knew the president was republican before they made those promises....
you can blame the democrat controlled congress for alot of things going on. has the democrat controlled congress made any viable plans to save social security from collasping in the future, or are they hoping that global warming floods florida and killing off almost all old people on social security?
i dont like any of the candidates still in the race and the republican dieing early on in his first term and leaving a weak vice president as acting president for the remainder of his first term, seems like the lesser of many evils. hopefully he wont pick some diehard conservative as VP to get conservatives to vote for him.
with McCain its getting hard to tell if what he's saying is an act to get conservatives to the polls to vote for him, or if he's actually saying what he really believes. he used to be very much a peace activist; he's experianced the atrocities of war when he was captured and tortured in Vietnam. i doubt he's changed to a warmonger. is just trying to appear tough on Iran to get conservative votes.

Bush + democratic congress = no results ![]()
Once again, congress has only been democratic for a year now. So far all they've done is disagree with bush about everything. You can't really hold full responsibility on a congress when their president is of a different party. I'm positive you wouldn't say the same thing about a republican congress not doing anything had obama been president and vetoing everything they've proposed. That's like having a congress of 60 year old men and a president who is a 25 year old bachelor. They just won't blend on issues =p
oh and mccain is full of it. The guy is definitely in his twilight years and has a long life full of political activity. Why is he talking about changing anything when he's spent his whole life supporting everything going on now? =p
I don't know, I don't really dedicate all my time listening to everyone's specific political standpoints. For me, all you have to do is find out what their foundation is and determine if it makes sense or not.
@zarf:
I think you're wrong about the fact obama won't use iraq as an issue. Its not difficult to put it on the agenda and easy to score with. Its an easier subject as education or healthsystems. Especially with mcCain comming so close to the centre on these issues. Its the people in the centre who will determine the vote.
"I don't know, I don't really dedicate all my time listening to everyone's specific political standpoints. For me, all you have to do is find out what their foundation is and determine if it makes sense or not."
So why Obama again?
