I just want to inform anyone who thinks what The Congressman did wasn't illegal.
It was --- Assault is defined as ANY unlawful touching.
Unlawful touching is defined as any AGGRESSIVE in nature touching WITHOUT consent -- Which is why if you perform Abdominal thrusts to a person with out asking them if you can help them, they can legally sue you, and press charges (after you save their life of course), or why Doctors get sued all the time for assault when they try to save the life of a suicide attempt, silly, but the law is the law.
The congressmen committed a few -Criminally- Punishable offenses, 1 - Assault, as he clearly aggressively touched the young man, 2. He was told several times "Congressmen let me go", and failed to do so, in more strict states that would be considered kidnapping or unlawful retention/withholding of persons -- Which is why you can't do a "Civilian Arrest" of someone (Unless they are committing a forcible/violent felony that you are witnessing) - Furthermore, he could be civilly liable for this as well, and a law suit could follow.
Who cares why it happens, or who was in the right - the fact is - when someone is using words, and you decide to go hands on with out the authority to do so, you are in the wrong.
I wish someone would try something like this on me
been too long since i got to break someone's face...
