Re: EU vs. US

Riots over a measly $190 billion

We could probably lend $1 trillion to the EU at 3% for 99 years. That would pay out $2.97 trillion by 2109. Then --soon as we ink the loan--we could sell the loan to China in return for the $900 billion in bonds they have. That would shrink the deficit by a few hundred billion, restore confidence to the EU, and get the Chicoms off our backs. Obama would be a hero.

i dont think they do riot because of the get loaned 190 billion.
They riot because we want to take away their 13th and 14th month salary.

Re: EU vs. US

Oh by the way, the fancy accounting that Greece had been doing in prior administrations...

I laugh at the Amateurs. The United States easily has 20 trillion in debt if we were to 'show all debt' like Greece.

We even have 40 trillion if we are to show insured but crashing Pensions, city/county/State debts, and any and all other debts and likes we have. Hell Oregon alone spends 25% of it's revenue on pensions, due to rise to 35% and even 50% in my life time.

Greece stinks like a rank amateur,

Re: EU vs. US

European countries may have been around a lot longer than the United States, but that doesn't mean they have strong countries.  I believe the Dutch, English, French, and Spanish were at one time kicking each others teeth in on the high seas.  And at that they they were all ruled by Kings and Queens which had their head up their butts on how much land they thought they could control.

=^o.o^= When I'm cute I can be cute.  And when I'm mean, I can be very very mean.  I'm a cat.  Expect me to be fickle.

Dutch did most of their "conquering"(more like a trade outpost with guns" via a Mega Corporation. At the time we were a Republic.

so he should slime his own country to win a slap in the face from Europe?

does anybody feel Biden made a heartwarming gesture? you describe it as "random buttkissing", and that's the best he could hope for

to get rid of the image that americans are arrogant ppl(insert euphimism here) who think they are the only thing that's worth something in the world.

an image you are more then happy of supporting it seems but that's your choice.

and the only reason dc is now still referred to as the capital of the free world is because america used to be the land of the free and the land where ppl in europe fled to for a new chance.

you have long passed that up so you can be gratefull you still get that name even though america is no longer the country of the free.

I'm not saying brussels is the capital of the free world or anything but it sure as hell isn't dc either unless you got a very f*ed up vision of what freedom is.

also likes to point out the irony of desinating a place as the capital of the free world. you can only be free if everyone is free. as long as there are disputes there is no free world. only a world with more freedom that's surrounded or that surrounds other places where there is less freedom.

I don't see him sliming his own country, I merely see him saying something positive about a foreign city.

Re: EU vs. US

we sure as hell ain't looking to follow the "leader" if its the EU.   Biden is over there to prop up the euro. it would not exist without American dollars.  if that's "arrogant" to say so, it is the arrogance of competence.  sadly it appears this administration is being led by the nose.

Re: EU vs. US

yeah like your government is so tip top in everything.

besides by your logic( the euro only exists because of the dollar) you guys only exist because of europe and europe only exist because of africa. so we should all follow affrica off course.

but my point wasn't purely about monetary units etc. but the general image of america.

but you're probably right. any american that tries to get the rest of the world( which you guys all deny exist at times) to have a better picture of you guys is a douche and should be lynched or hung or sentenced to death or at least be removed from any political function; what where they thinking when they did taht.

Re: EU vs. US

If you don't NEED that money, okay if we don't borrow it from China to give it to you?  Speaking as a plutocratic right winger, when I was a boy we figured Wall Street, Detroit, Chicago AND Silicon Valley were gonna be radioactive smoke at the same time, and the USA would still make it, so I don't buy into this "omg we gotta print $123124412341234123 Trillion or all the banks in the world explode at same time, and that'd be WORSE than buying bread with a wheelbarrow full of cash!!!!11!"

JFK went to Berlin and said "I'm a Berliner" which was cute.  he did NOT say "wow this makes Boston look like shit"  which would be disloyal (though probably Berlin 1961 probably had fewer socialists than massachusetts.)
He definitely did not say "well, you guys tell me what to do and we'll follow"  which is a stupid kissass lie if fake, and treachery of American interests if true

we should be richer, fatter and ruder than anyplace on earth, and if not, we gotta find out who botched it
