^ I'm with you ukie, the variety in playing styles and roles you could choose within the family is what engaged me the most.

I don't think IC is necessarily dead, but for me it was certainly "of the time".
At its peak as Listos mentioned, it was the community, the openness and likemindedness that I found, coupled with the game being taken deadly seriously which is what had me hooked. Some of the negations for naps were truly cutthroat, it was so entertaining haha.

I believe the actual game (even though I haven't played for a long time), is still credible and stands up today, but unfortunately it's not "Minecrafty" enough to entice the younger audience I once was and the majority of its original players aren't able to maintain the level of activity which was expected, me being one of them.

BUT, I'll say that if it were a mobile game, I would definitely pay to download the app.
Just a shame it ain't gonna happen..

Apologies for such a late reply.

Oh, dammit.

Ah this makes sense.
Is that with it still being capped at 2 possible deletes per round or was that scrapped at some point also?

(8 replies, posted in Questions)

Haha I guess, it's unlikely though surely? Tbf I'm so out of touch with this game I really have no idea.

Why has it been deleted for that reason though, isn't that a good thing? Finding an active fam if you're active also?

There is a market, but it seems quite niche.
My point was that IC requires time, barely a day off during a round, or at least that's how I remember it. I'm not convinced enough people want to do that, enough for this to be developed properly anyway.

If IC was revamped so it played like the strategy map in the TOTAL WAR games.
Yea, I said it. Go crazy.

Ha exactly!
If there isn't some minor victory message every 10 minutes or animation for a pat on the back just for logging in, people ain't interested in it anymore.

Slightly off topic, but what're the main differences within the game now? From what I can see Andromeda, Pinwheel etc have been completely removed. Are Family sizes reduced and ergo map size as well? Would playing SS if I were to join a galaxy be a viable option still? All the questions.

It's unfortuate what's happened to this game.
I agree to a certain extent that updating the interface would make a difference, but in reality the reason I played this game was down to things like the #general chat in IRC, co-ordinating raids with 12 others in the "fam", a busy, welcoming and entertaining forum.
People just don't have the time for a game like this anymore.
It's no-one's fault, it was just of the time. It's all about Battles Islands, Gods of Fire or whatever there is now ha.

Right, I've read a few things (not everything) and I seriously find it all highly amusing.

All of you should [w00f!] lighten up.

This IS a game, and tbh it's all fun, regardless of whether you're winning or losing...I'm enjoying retaking and pissing off "The Horde" <-LOL from reaching their size in rank.

But in all honesty now, take your head from out of your arse: people like [w00f!] and EVEN people in my fam! (I shan't name names cos I'm not gna get into an argument with people I'm "working" with). The point is, you're all trying to prove your worth and how long you can stay online for and how much of a bastard you are and practically some of you sound like if you could sleep with yourself you would.

THAT is pathetic.

It is a game, enjoy it, attack, retake, op, debate WHAT-EVER you like. But for gods sake don't start wanking over your awesomeness when you've just raided and got 100 planets from one banker who was offline - because I'm here to tell you, it is not awesome, it is quite sad that you have to announce it to the IC community to make yourself feel secure in your skin. Try saying it to work colleagues and you'll get cock-slapped you fools!

I feel for you who bring in your "reputations" and talk yourself up as though you're practically the creator of everything wholesome.

You need to get out more and tone your whole commitment to the game down, because when people start getting abusive and vengeful to the point of if you were within stabbing distance you'd pull out a machete...it get's quite scary tbh.

I've been playing for 6 years on and off, and yea sure, I get revenge, sure I've been annoyed but I've NEVER moaned and moaned and moaned and moaned when things don't happen the way I want...NOR do I put myself on a [w00f!] pedestal and basically ask people to worship me when I do pull off a strat (LMAO [w00f!]!).

So please, argue what you want but take what I said into consideration.
2 things in particular really.

1. It's a game, it means nothing to *real* people.
2. Don't try and [w00f!] yourself because you have more figs than me.

I still respect your opinions and points if they have reason, and I DO expect a lot of abuse from what I just said, but please remember you don't all half make me laugh and what-ever you do say which isn't *constructive* will fall on deaf ears as I have stuff to do.

-=Haste=-

Gary Glitter has anything with a face.

As I said earlier.

Like Gary Glitter.

You obv don't get the reference.

These kids pretended they were psychic cos they could hear dog whistles and so to prove they were: When people came round to check this claim, both boys would be in different rooms, one would draw a picture of a shape on a piece of a paper (say a square), and the father would do two whistles for the square and the other boy would say "He's drawn a square" etc etc..

Like one blow for a circle, 2 for a square 3 for a dodecahedron blah blah and cos we can't hear the whistles, they got away with it for a while.
