DPS its because of comments like:
"highly educated my ass; you had your degree and job handed to you because of your race."
That fuel what you're talking about
But anyway, I am not racist and don't associate with racist ppl no matter their race. Its like, I see ppl in here talking about they aren't racist, its the other ppl being racist and they are mad that the others are getting away it and they have to suffer. Frankly it just goes so many ways. A few bad apples spoil the bunch =/
If a black man gets an education and a good job, it was handed to him because he was black and not because he worked hard for it? That's bs. You can't make that statement without knowing how that person grew up and what his available educational and financial resources were like.
Then on the flip side, if a white man goes into a job interview and he's up against a black man who's interviewing for the same job but he gets it instead. Its stupid to say that the black man didn't get it because of racism. That white man could've grown up making straight A's while getting bullied by some local trailer park trash white kids who were jealous of his will to persevere and he worked hard for his opportunities.
I mean, its really not any of our faults that we are put in these situations. I've done pretty ok for myself but should I be subjected to discrimination because maybe another black man beat you up and robbed you one day when you were walking home from school?
And should you have to spend your life being called a racist because a man with your complexion raped an old black woman in a bathroom 40 years ago?
Its an awful situation that this country is in and I can't help but understand why a lot of black ppl don't trust white ppl. Segregation and discrimination hasn't faded 100% and what happened so brutally and openly in past decades still goes on today.
And at the same time, there are plenty of white americans who grew up despising racism and have extended hands to their brothers and sisters and fellow americans of other backgrounds and nationalities only to be labeled and spat on. Its not fair to them and who wants to be blamed for something they didn't do? I mean seriously, as a human being, who wants to actually be blamed for hurting someone in the worst way or committing the most evil acts that another person can imagine and you have had no part in it whatsoever? Its a painful feeling.
I dunno, what I will do is embrace ppl who are willing to just chill and talk and relate to me as a human being without regard to color or nationality and are doing something positive with their lives because frankly, this racism and discrimination is just bs.
