Yes I did a few years ago. I am now doing my last four years at a University.
And ahahaha. I know the German Political Science professor you're talking about.

You aren't going to AR are you?
... I wish it was 70 degrees outside.
My heat is all the way up and it's still below 70 in my apartment, ughr.
Well you know it would still be cool to conquer Alberta. They'd love that too, hating the harmful policies imposed on it by the federal government.
As for China, I have been advocating US intervention from their bs. Buying land around the Panama canal and upsetting the balance of power can not be tolerated.
Alberta is next door too, lol.
Obama sounds less and less far left, so I can put up with him. And it seems he is willing to make concessions that appease me, contrary to policies of the Democrat's track record.
Obey Emperor Justinian I!
Dude, you haven't seen impoverished locations of Minneapolis have you? Those mofos are all outside with large families, watching tv in the front yard and living off welfare. They ofc all come here because MN has one of the best welfare policies in the US. Our stupid state is so Swedish we had to model our welfare system off the Swedes, ughr.
Yeah and then they'll all come here...
I think that global cooling is happening. It keeps getting colder over here every winter.
On the other hand, they say it's a result of ice caps melting.
Avo,
You trust Russian scientists?
All you have to do is teach the student body to reduce everything to supply/demand lol, even a couple's bed. Did you know that a couple's bed is divided between supply and demand? ROFLMAO.
That got ears in my econ class.
Consider women depreciating assets. That sort of thing. A great way to love economics is to apply it to a considerable extent. Give everyone Freakonomics!

He was assassinated so we can't judge him as being anyone other than a president who was never able to prove himself as either a success or a failure as president.
Black wing,
A balance of power is where a defacto peace results because two or more powers mutually consider that a military conflict is too costly to pursue. If one power decides to go imperialistic or nazi, then obviously peace becomes more costly than war. This Peace > War case occurred in World War II when Germany decided to foolishly attack everybody. At first taking Austria and a few other places didn't mean much and it was too considered too costly, but attacking Poland was the last straw. Then it started to become clear what Germany's intentions were, and the shift of power in Europe compelled France and Britain to act.
But in the case of a Soviet Empire that does not concern itself much with an arms race or expansionism, who cares? It's more beneficial to prop them up and keep the region stable than allow it to collapse in to anarchy and try to fill the void. We have tried doing that, and it's proven costly and alienated us from politically strategic countries (duh!). Being the dude that expands his influence is only going to alarm and antagonize neighbors, whether it's for moral reasons or not. The political stage is about power and nothing else. They don't give a crap about what's right or wrong.
As for Iraq, yes I think we should retreat. It's a matter of cutting costs and restoring our global power. Being the one who is the target of antagonism and proxy wars does not help much with power and influence. Like Machiavelli said. A wise prince must know when to be a lion and when to be a fox, and Bush sadly doesn't know when to be a fox.
Xeno,
In the sense that the dictators divide and conquer yeah. They divide the elite in to factions and play one off over the other, that's politics. You can do that to advance your political objectives, but you're typically screwed if you head on challenge the elite as a whole.
Einstein,
Lol. Comparatively speaking, a woman with the same education from a lower class family would not be in the position Chelsea is at her age. Not to say Chelsea is incompetent, but it's unlikely that she merited her position so much that she deserved to be placed where she is above perhaps older and more experienced competition. More than likely she owes her position more so to her family than her merit (which btw is high but not sufficient to justify her position)
And true. Warren Buffet earns a return of $46 million every year from his assets. Those billions he has just aren't accessible for spending.
Schniepel,
You Germans have had a strong economy for centuries, thanks to your infrastructure. While it was badly ruined it WW2, it was rebuilt. Still, Europe isn't a fair example because it has inherited a strong economy from the imperial period. Which is twisted given your anti-imperialist and altruistic attitude.
BW,
Lol filling the power void left by the USSR huh? Ever hear of imperial overstretch? We simply did not and do not have the resources to extend our political influence to fill the power void. As a matter of fact we have ourselves over stretched all ready, which has opened a power void for China to weaken our power and influence in South America. Don't you find it disturbing that a Chinese company is buying the land around the Panama canal even as Bush is president?
Reagan failed in the USSR. You just don't upset the balance of power like that.
Henry Kissinger was a diplomatic genius comparable to Metternich and Bismarck. He focused on detente and maintaining a balance of power, but Reagan was a poop who had to screw it all up. Reagan and his Republican successors are comparable to Wilhelm II. "Yay my country is chosen by God, we shall have a place in the sun whooo hoooo! Arms race baby, lets alienate and push countries around whoooo!"
Well WFS, I have a few counter points to your spread the wealth around.
1. Wealth fails to circulate more often because there are a lack of opportunities for the lower classes to advance, and second wealth redistribution programs only eliminate competition to the super rich by targeting the lower rich.
This means that a healthy economy is maintained by tax dollars funding education and vocational training, not in left wing redistribution. This creates competition and circulates wealth on it's own without government intervention. And this is why I think you Euros have less of a rich/poor divide, because you invest in education and job training like crazy mofos. In America we obviously don't care about education, and the resulting outcome is an insanely powerful upper class that has little competition. It has nothing to do with "soaking the rich" programs. Besides, you can't "soak the rich" because they're too powerful. Even in a democracy, you just don't mess with the elite.
However, the super rich don't save that much. They invest it. Bill Gates doesn't have his tens of billions at hand. They are tied in his assets.
Einstein,
But there is that class of wealthy, the super rich, who are given their position because of birth (not merit) and are allowed to screw things up because their companies have a competitive advantage in their reputations, control of resources, and networks with the right political organizations and people.
Here's a good example. At present Chelsea Clinton earns $250,000 working at a financial firm. She's in her middle twenties, has a degree in history, and her parents are well connected and wealthy. In your opinion, Flint, does Chelsea Clinton owe her position to her incredible merit or her family?
Now personally, I have nothing against taking away from the super rich. But because of practical limitations, it usually ends up where the lower rich are the ones who get screwed and then that eliminates potential competitors to the super rich. So ultimately, it only reinforces the problem it's intended to solve.
Funny how Flint attracts all the idiots to post.
We don't know what they did. We don't live in a hunter gatherer society. That is so a hundred thousand years ago.
You don't. Okay then.
A lot of intelligent people are evil just like me, Xeno.
Well Sparta, which had some socialist tendencies, pulled that off. But having a militaristic society is also just not cool.
No, government is a supplier. It provides services with tax revenue.
However, socialism is a failure, you're right. The reason being that competition and the size of the supplier affect the efficiency of the market, and socialism results with those forces causing inefficiency.
