The Sorcerer of Illusions gave the OK and nodded. A loud splash of water was heard as two of the traitors held the man's head under water once more. He thrashed around as he struggled to breathe, spilling water from the large wooden tub all over the cold stone floor. After a few moments of feeling the air squeezed out of his lungs, his upper body was pulled upwards and out of the water. He sucked in as much air as he could muster and he felt alive once more as it filled his chest.

"TELL US WHO THE KING IS!" one of the traitors shouted once more. He was wearing a black hood which covered his face so it was difficult to tell who he speaking. The victim continued to take quick deep intakes of air as he caught his breath back. "I don't know I told you!" he pleaded. "Please let me go, I don't know anything!"

"There's far worse ways to die than drowning" said the sorcerer. His voice was deep and echoed as it bounced off the four walls of the room they were in. "We can demonstrate if you like." He clapped his hands together and the tub of water miraculously transformed into a large black steel cauldron filled with water. It was suspended about 1 foot in the air and a fire appeared underneath, which started to slowly heat the water.

The sorcerer clapped his hands together again and the victim slowly rose in the air and headed towards the boiling cauldron. Cords begain to appear and tie themselves around his arms and legs like vines so he was bound and unable to move. His feet touched the water first and it was already warm. He screamed out loud as he felt the heat from the fire below. He know it wouldn't take long before the water slowly boiled him alive.

"I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING! LET ME GOOOOO!" he shouted at full volume. The bottom of the cauldron burnt the soles of his feet when they made contact with it and he began to feel his skin starting to feel uncomfortable. He couldn't see what was happening, but open sores had started to develop. The traitors looked on and started laughing. They were enjoying this spectacle.

At that moment the door burst open and four knights burst into the room with their swords outstretched. "Who's there?!" one of them shouted. The traitors stopped laughing and the Sorcerer of Illusions immediately clapped his hands together. All three  people in the room phased into another part of the castle and the cauldron and fire disappeared. The water within the cauldron splashed to the floor and the victim also fell. He was visibly shaking and the sores on his arms and legs had erupted into giant burns which were oozing puss.

The Sorcerer of Death impatiently paced around within the confines of his chambers. He had not been able to fall asleep last night, still agitated by the failed killing attempt. He decided that this night presented a fresh chance and it was time to fulfil his lust for blood again.

He had been lurking in the shadows all day, following his target without causing any suspicion. Today he wasn't going to let his kill slip through his fingers. It would not be long until his target would come.

He was right as approximately twenty minutes later his target appeared from around the corner, however he was not alone. Walking next to him was what seemed to be the executioner. For a moment he was doubting whether he would take them on both at the same time, but fate decided for him. The executioner stopped to rearrange his armour and they both parted their ways.

He waited until his target got around the corner as he quickly dashed out of the shadows, rushing towards the executioner who was standing with his back towards him. A sword made out of pure dark magic was forming around his hand as he approached the executioner. With one swift blow he pierced the sword right through the neck of the helpless man. The blade dissolved immediately as rushed on, he wanted to kill someone else and he was going proceed as planned.

As he came around the corner he saw his target just going around another corner on the other side of the hall. "Ahh he is still there" the sorcerer mumbled. He started running to make sure his target wouldn't get away. Within a few seconds he reached the corner were his target was just a few moments ago, he looked around but again his target was on the complete other side of the hallway, about to walk out of sight.

The black sorcerer cursed and started running even faster, he wouldn't be outwitted again tonight. Even faster than last time he darted down the hallway. Quickly he turned the corner, but as he did a large fist hit him hard in the face. Dazzled by the hard punch he fell to ground. His attacker approached him and prepared for another punch, but the dark sorcerer quickly phased away, shocked at what had just happened. The hard hit had made it unable to see who hit him and he wasn't going to wait and see how strong that person would be.

"Two failed nights in a row, how can this be?!!!" The sorcerer cursed.  Luckily it wasn't a complete disaster, murdering Nolio the executioner was surprisingly satisfying.

For over four hours he had been looking for the book. He knew that it was somewhere in the library. He had encountered this book by accident a few years ago as he was cleaning up one of the rear bookcases, if only he knew where he left it.

He had been in charge of the library for many years now and he had read a lot of books whilst doing so. He basically knew a little of everything, but would readily admit that magic wasn't his strongest subject. This particular book was exactly what he needed to find more information on that evil sorcerer.

"Ahh, there it is!" he squeaked. He blew off the dust and read the title - "Famous Sorcerer Families". He quickly started browsing through the index looking for that one chapter. The chapter describing something very familiar about all of these events.

The sudden sound of falling books alerted him and he quickly grabbed his rapier. He had been taking lessons lately and he wouldn't let anyone get him! "Show yourself!" he yelled. "Cowards, come and face me!"

From behind one of the bookcases a shrouded figure leaped towards him holding a small dagger. The librarian countered the plunge and laughed at the size of his opponent's weapon.

But the traitor was a crafty one and very quick too, stabbing and slashing with the dagger over and over again. The librarian was slowly cornered as he fended off attack after attack. Suddenly he saw an opening and with a quick attack he slashed the arm of his assailer. He took this moment and leaped towards his attacker trying to plunge his rapier into him, but the traitor was once more too quick and with a swift move he dodged the rapier and slit the throat of the librarian.

The traitor quickly grabbed the book and as he walked away he looked back on more time at his worthy opponent ZichtOpZee - librarian and loyal subject of the King.

The Sorcerer of Death paced back and forth in his chambers. He looked up again at the mirror hanging on his wall and smiled. It wasn't his reflection staring back at him, but a vision of his target tonight. The man was in one of the banquet rooms downstairs dining with a number of other people and visibily enjoying himself. The scorcerer conjured up a small black energy ball and made it spin by twirling his fingers in a circular motion. Now was not the time, he was going to wait until the time was right.

A couple of hours later and that time had arose. The man had just finished his meal with his friends and was heading along the corridor towards his chambers to retire for the night. Portraits of past kings hung on the walls and looked down at him as he walked past. However unaware to him, he wasn't alone in that corridor.

The Sorcerer of Death had silently phased a few feet behind his target and immediately generated a glowing black ball of energy similar to the one he conjured earlier but on a larger scale. He was preparing to fire it towards his target when the candles, which lined the walls roughly 4 feet apart from each other, were suddenly doused. Darkness filled the long corridor and the sorcerer looked around, puzzled. He lost concentration for a split second and the energy ball, which had been suspended in the air in front of him, faded before completely disappearing.

He waved his hand quickly and the candles reignited, flooding red and orange light back into the corridor. The sorcerer swore loudly as the man he was following had gone also. He didn't have time to react further as a door a few feet away from him swung open.

A man with glasses emerged holding a pile of books. He was wearing a long brown robe, tied together with a red strap and a golden chain with a crucifix hanging from it. "Oh hello sir" the man said as he noticed the sorcerer.

"Evening, cleric" he responded as he moved slightly to the right to let the man pass. He caught a glimpse of the Old Testament sitting at the top of the book pile. It seemed that now was not the right time after all to conduct his next kill. It would have to wait.

***********************************************

It was well over midnight as You_Fool blew out the last candle in his chambers. It had been a long and stressful day and it was time to turn in and have a good night's rest. He turned around and tried to fall asleep, but couldn't as it had suddenly gotten very cold.

He sat up straight and noticed that the window had blown open. "That is odd" he mumbled as he got up and walked towards the window. He peeked outside briefly, closed the window and returned to bed. "Nice and warm, lovely" he thought, but it was not long until that warmth was replaced with freezing cold once again. He sat up again and for the second time the window was open.

He jumped out of his bed and walked towards it, carefully looking around as he approached the window. "What if one of the traitors comes out to kill me" he thought as he peered out of the window. As he closed the window he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his neck. He turned around and stared right in the face of...

You_Fool dropped to the ground in front of his abductor.

"Time to have some fun!" the abductor said as he dragged poor You_Fool away through the abandoned and silent hallways of the castle.
