i dont think it s the making fun of royals thing perse, but the link with the incident

the main thing was people getting hurt/dead on what was supposed to be a happy day, not the queen's safety being oopsied   by saying "take that royals", some people feel you re saying that the victims had it coming for them or something  (we know how sensitive people can get about that 8-) )

of course there are ppl who find them royals useless and taxmoneyleeching funny people, but they wouldnt go as far as wishing them dead, for they have not got any real political power. The issues people care about are fought over by secretaries and their political parties

if you re talking about inadequate security measures, that s a whole different story

if something happens in a country that has an impact, people get sensitive about it, compare it with 9/11 a bit (yes i know it  s not the same, that s why i said "a bit")
if it s a small country, or if it  s a country where nothing much happens, or where things happen all the time, the perception of the seriousness is different
