nah, no drafts is good. But players aren't really all that skilled anymore and a lot of ppl want to play with their friends. So that's it

why would you vote 15 instead of "other" o_O

That's just....stupid =p

What will you give me if it doesn't? big_smile

There was an "other" option. Obviously the majority wasn't in favor of it =p

Next Round Cap stats:

Answer                       Votes

30 fams/15 players - 116
30 fams/20 players - 66
25 fams/20 players - 65
Other? (discuss in uni news) - 25

I personally have no problem with 12 player fams. But this round needs to be reshuffled because 50 fams seemed to be just a bit too much and there's no way we can reduce the amount without a shuffle. 40 fams tops would be best I think from now on. Cap filled up this round but there was a lot of inactivity and the only reason it wasn't really made a big issue is because the galaxy was HUGE! Obviously a lot bigger than it needs to be. 2500 systems will be the max for next round. Large galaxy but not overly large I think.

20 player fams probably would be a bit too much. But it seems we're going with 30 fams of 15 anyways unless there's a large uproar with that.

Anyhow, my problem with Palin is that she has refused to answer any questions since being nominated (including the debate) and so far hasn't really said anything without a source. Here's an example:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/04/palin.obama/index.html

Palin says Obama is friends with terrorists quoting an article from the NY times but then in the same article it says, "the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called 'somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.'

That's something kids do. We are adults. I don't need a president who's not going to point out facts and refuse to answer questions from the media.

Clearly undecided might have been taken aback by the charge on Palin after her interviews. The fact that almost all of the national press had headlines saying she did (at least) good enough helps to consider the McCain ticket on the same level as the Obama one, if you're undecided.

I mean she "won" credibility, so it's not all about losing on debates, and the aftermath of the debate in this case "helps" the campaign.

Well, according to the polls on both debates, Obama/Biden got higher approvals than McCain/Palin. If anything, according to the polls, Biden dominated Palin. She just got higher "better than expected" votes. Which means if anything, most of the country had a bad opinion and low expectation of her. All she did was not answer questions at a debate really. Most of the undecided americans were undecided because they actually know politics and realized that she didn't show anything at all about what she knows about politics. The only people who approved of her performance were republicans who didn't really trust her in the first place. Now they feel she can handle pressure.

In regards to Justi though,

He accepts that certain things don't fit with what he likes. Nothing wrong with that. Dislike it and keep on moving is what the ducky used to say!

so, in your estimation not liking hiphop equals being fat and old? and just before you said that, you questioned if you actually like hiphop? two options now, either you like hiphop but are trying to evade admitting it, or you consider yourself fat and old.

as for what's wrong with lyrics of a single hiphop song, did it ever occurr to you that people might be discussing hiphop as a whole phenomenon? here's a quick comparison: how many los angeles gangbangers dress like people in hiphop music videos, and how many of them dress like people in emo music videos? i'm not expecting you to pull a statistics out of thin air, but i am expecting you to think.

just out of curiosity: you are american, aren't you?

That really has no merit as the people who are most famous for the most gruesome crimes and murders in history were known to wear italian suits.

This thread really has no point actually. I think I've proved that you can't generalize hip hop as a negative and not have the same exact comparisons to any other culture or music. Frankly, it's just pretty much a matter of whether you like hip hop or not. The same way that nothing is wrong with science or religion. But guess what, people abuse and twist each of those now don't they?

Please don't even begin to start calling people who follow a certain culture of any sort ignorant, uncivilized, etc. because you don't agree with what they do. If that's the case, then direct those names at yourself. Something that you dislike doesn't need to fit your criteria of acceptable. It's the people who dislike those things that need to make adjustments to either learn to like it or stay away from it. I don't eat spinach. Does it mean that spinach is unacceptable in society? No. Just means I need to not eat spinach and not eat it.

Taking sides? No it's just a matter of me being able to see the ingame myself and knowing that you are a liar. If you try to pull something like that again you'll receive a temporary block. Please grow up and play the game and respect those you are playing with.

er....

you edited that to make it look like something different. You're a liar.

lol it won't be the same size. It will still be big, just not huge =p

atm it's 3200 systems. I think 2500 would be sufficient. We could do 50 fams again, I just think it would be better to see if we can fill

Yeah, sorry about that guys. Tri is almost full of new/returning players from like 5 years ago. We started capricorn and it filled up. PW filled up. Then we had 300 new players and nowhere to put them. So we dumped them off into tri. Unfortunately ppl there were either learning the game or trying to get a feeling of IC back so there wasn't much competition.

But most of IC's attackers these days have to jump absurd amounts of fleets to be effective anyway. I'd never draft them =p

I mean, I can definitely appreciate and understand your views towards some main stream hip hop artists such as:

Flavor Flav, Nelly, Young Jeezy, 50 cent and a bunch of other guys who spread messages of mistreating women, getting involved with drugs and gang violence. But that's just bs that should be avoided at all costs. The only reason it's popular is because of the fact that it sells. Just like anything Paris Hilton does will sell because people love whores. Same as anything President Bush does gets attention because...well that's a bad example =p

But yeah, there's a lot of good hip hop music with positive messages. Unfortunately you have to go through a LOT of bad music to find it sad

I guess that's how Europeans feel about Americans.
