Baratheon, why 20% Magic for only NF and SA?  I would have thought as an SS a few more agent ops would be more helpful.

Let me tell you how it works in another game I've played...

The concept is slighty different from IC, in that instead of capturing a planet - you hit someones fleet.  If they hit your fleet then you lose it (if you lose the battle) + their losses.

What happens is the 30% of the value of the fleet, turns into a Debris Field that hovers above the planet.

Then people send "Recyclers" to harvest the Debris Field.

The Recyclers move realllllly slowly.  So in IC-terms, if you had sent a 4 tick fleet to hit someone's fleet and crash their fleet - you can send your recyclers at the same time, but they take 8 ticks.

This effectively gives the person who got attacked, time enough to log in and recycle the debris himself.  It's quicker for him to travel to the debris field, cos he's sending from his own planet.

You can also ask people in your fam, who are closer to send their recyclers too.

But yea, different game, and the concepts would take a whlie to implement - we don't get those kinda changes in IC easily!

[Another game] has something like this.

lol

Sure, you may have helped - I can't remember what I looked at the time.  But really, it's been a mass grouping of a lot of ideas to implement a good working system.  Things that can be tweaked too.

To give you an idea....here's a post dated 3 months earlier than yours about something similar, from Skoe.

Round Highs
-----------
- Making 73m gc/tick
- Genesis making 2.1m/tick

- Genesis, Nolio and myself just wanted a laid back round, so we drafted into the lowest ranked family as a team of three.  Had a draft spare so kept it in the bank - but never ended up using it.  H4e was here too, so he became our honorary 4th member.

- Funniest part of the round:
Part 1:  Eddie Knox, Gekko, Damon random into our fam.
Part 2:  All progress SS, but not really doing anything
Part 3:  We kill all 3 off in one go
Part 4:  Eddie Knox randoms back saying "Lol i guess kicking me out wasnt enough"
Part 5:  Another random coming back saying "what a waste, kicking me while I have 85% con and mil science, and then land in the same fam with inresponsive so called vets" - lol, Gekko is back.
Part 6:  Another random coming back saying "If its any consolation at all..they booted me and my 8 planets too" - lol, Damon back too!

All 3 randomed back the same tick! ...you had to be there

And how exactly are you planning on paying for this fleet?

That's kind of the point.

Make changes - keep it interesting.  Then tweak as necessary.  Any game follows this general progress.

No change will be perfect when first implemented.  Eg.
- Camaar Fix - was reverted
- Octarine Hurricane - effects had to be minimised a bit
- Inactive Morale Reduction - had to be tweaked
- SD Market!

It's actually a good sign for IC.  Get the changes done, and then put the balance in smile

Cos, it's probably full.

Barring a few 'ghost' spots which cannot be occupied.

I would also like to propose another update to this.

Add in a 'key' that will just double all the infra on the planet (to the allowable buildings).

Sometimes you have a situation, where you wanna quickly just double Infra, you may have planets like:

#1:  135% OB
#2:  200% OB
#3:  50% OB

Sometimes you have a lot of resources that you just want to double the infra and build as much as possible.

Rather than have to manually build them individually to double infra. Or if using OB percent, you don't want to have to build them to different percentages.

It would be nice to just select them all and OB to Percent to "*" or somethig that just doubles the infra.

----

I should add, that if the first idea in this thread is implemented, then this change won't need to be done.  Cos all you'd do is type in the max OB % that you want, and the maximum buildings will be built that is allowed.

E.g. In the case of the three planets above - you just type 700% OB, and all of those 3 planets will automatically double in infra.

It's not so much about you having the tag - you missed the point.  It's about transparency and me asking how you got it and why.

Primo said it was a mistake.

So, you're not really "giving it up" and being a martyr here tongue  You never should have had it in the first place tongue

Nope, from this perspective, it's all about what "Orbit wants" - he's never taken into consideration what his ally wants/needs.  And just cos they didn't agree with him, he's decided to attack them?

Unlike yourself, I can't see why they did it.

When the first war happend:
42/60 vs 59/47
59 Wanted to NAP, Orbit wanted to fight.  So they Fought.

The second time around, he wanted a 2v2.  So it went to 2v2.

Never once did he consider what was good for the alliance - only what was good for the fam.  And in a galaxy that has permanent allies, the only way to play is side by side.  Doesn't matter if you don't see eye-to-eye on every thing, but you should still support each other.

Orbit just didn't get his way, and now he's taking it out on his allies.

...relate it to you guys cancelling the NAP.  Spam said they didn't want it.  But did they turn around and backstab you?  No - and neither should Orbit.

I think the point is, a lot of people have worked hard for their tags.

Yes, in between we stopped giving out tags, so it kidna got hard to get points.

But regardless, I was curious to see why he was the only one who got to keep his custom one.  As from my post, Primo, you can see that it was Skoe who won the contest, and we made sure that even that was temporary.

AA knows that I have nothing against him smile  We get along really well.  But as for his reasons in his post, well, there are many other people who help the community just like that.  I'm sure that's not the reason he has the tag.

it is a simple mistake on my part, i think. I was under the impression AA was the winner of the partax competition. I don't know why.
I'll have to look into why AA had his tag, and what we're going to do about it.

---

^ If that's the case, then we all start on even terms with no tags.  Will be looking forward to seeing the new Tag System!

My view on the matter (as somewhat of an outsider!):

- 42/60 were gonna rape 47/59

47 might have been able to hold their own, but 59 was gonna get pummelled.  Yes it's fine to have all the "macho" approach and say you're not going to pay planets, but that's one sided.  Your allies would have gotten raped and eventually 42/60 would have prolly taken you down.
42/60 offered 20 planets for a NAP.  This was a great offer and to help your allies and yourself, you could have taken it.  Orbit was too stubborn and refused.  Because Orbit never pays planets for a nap.

59 agreed to pay 42/60 100 planets for a nap, so their alliance could live to see another day.  Orbit thought he was getting a NAP for free (http://www.imperialconflict.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1321452#p1321452 - Pay special attention to "lol whOrbit thinks we got nothing out of it but he doesnt know a secret i know lmao").

Without the nap with 52/60 - 47 wouldn't have been able to fight Baratheon or whoever.

- 42/60 Cancels on 47
Yes, they cancelled a 2v2 NAP.  Orbit had the option of once again saving his allies and keeping them out of it.  42 and 60 both said they'd withdraw on 59 and 60 would not hit 47 either.  So they could make it a 1v1, 42 vs 47.

But once again, Orbit in his egotistical way, wanted everyone involved. He could have just fought like he wanted to in the first place and re-instated NAP with 60.  Yes, it was  2v2 Alliance NAP that was cancelled.  But nothing stopped Orbit making a new nap with 60 so that it would have been a 1v1.  Selfish once again.  He obviously also knew how much savings allies had, and could have asked for Market Aid, rather than have them fight as cripples with no decent attackers.

...and now, after all that had settled - Orbit is raping their own allies.  Pretty sad really.

Not surprising I guess, since Orbit and Tryme are in the fam.

But not something I would have expected from Tobi, Dimpel, Pitbull and Tsunami - 4 players in IC I rate really highly.

Then....

Shouldn't the likes of Parrot, arsy, Nolio, KT - deserve to have their own "permanent" custom tag?
