A legislator.  One who quickly responds to crises will be elected longer, so their work is never done.  One who is slow to action is soon voted out of office, so their work is soon finished.  smile

That's irrelevent.  Key very specifically cited one organization, the Holy See.  Attributing that trait to the Holy See based upon generalizations of religion is like saying "Well, of course the Holy See worships Allah!  Islam does!"

Um... since when did most religious groups begin rejecting medicine?

I'll have to slap Wornstrum about it.

Meanwhile, ongoing discussions are taking place in #politics.  Feel free to jump on over if you want to get in on the discussion quickly!

One important note regarding the question of continue tournament vs. league: We already have one person (humidity) who said he was interested in participating, but can't because it's already going on.  Continuing the tournament means we lose some opportunities to get new participants.

how manny people die because of alcohol and tabacco a year, and how manny die because of your heroin.
you wil find that the numbers are far greater!

I'll concede the numbers are greater, no doubt.  However, there are multiple variables which make the numbers different.  Specifically, the fact that alcohol and tobacco are legal mean there will obviously be more deaths, because there is a higher available supply and marketability for those goods... much more than for heroin.  You're comparing apples and oranges here.

> And apparently u got no clue what an alchohol addiction does to people, or when a heavy smoker has to go outside every 10 minits for their puff. can they be an asset to our community?

1: There is such a thing as an alcohol user who isn't an alcohol addict.  That is almost unheard of with heroin.
2: Don't try and tell me I don't know what it does.  I've had plenty of close relatives who have died from both alcohol and non-alcohol related drug addictions.  I could make this some emotional issue based on those experiences, but I'm trying to analyze things objectively.  Don't pretend you know me for the sake of your argument.
3: An alcohol or cigarette user can still hold up a job.  A heroin user loses all motivation for everything other than their next high.
4: Rehabilitation from alcohol and rehabilitation from heroin are in two completely different fields.  One is stressful and painful.  The other is deadly.

> your just one of them sheep saying what others have teatched you to say, due to the fact our goverments allow these drugs in our society that their better...

their alll just alike! being equally as bad.

Why don't you try not throwing out the personal attacks and just sticking to the issues.  Things like this do nothing to help determine the truth value of anyone's arguments... it just helps to hurt the actual debate that occurs in these forums.  I'd strongly advise you to stick to the substantive arguments, and not the ad hominem.

I definitely agree that cigarettes and alcohol are bad.  But they're just not on par with certain drugs, specifically heroin.  I'm just noting that, no matter what you think in general for drug laws, heroin is in its own category entirely.

and tabacco and alchohol is better?

Yes... tobacco and alcohol are better than heroin, because people can still maintain some motivation to continue being useful members of society with tobacco and alcohol.

Although I think there shouldn't be a problem in Flint replacing RisingDown in this debate, I would note that we should probably wait for Wornstrum to issue a ruling as to whether to allow the substitution and act as if RisingDown was never even assigned here, or act as if RisingDown conceded.
