It was time. The crew had gathered and after many votechanges, the majority agreed that Gratitude, of all crewmembers, must be an infected person. In the heat of the battle, however, they seem to have forgotten about the panic room vote, however the Supervisor tried to draw the crew's attention on the matter.
Maarten had only just died, and the pain the crew felt like an old wound that never really healed. "We are to get our revenge now!", they thought.. The crew turned now to Gratitude. Primo and Deci, who nearly escaped the lynching themselves, felt like they had to show their allegiance. The grabbed Gratitude, now sobbing and muttering, and took him to the airlock and threw him in. While closing the first airlock door, Gratitude tried escaping the horrible faith that was now inevitably his. In a last, desperate attempt to push the airlock door open, his fingers got slammed between the door, that was now hermeticly shut. The crew now gazed in horror to the bloody stumps that were once fingers between the door, while shiveringly ignoring Gratitude's cries of pain and desperation. All but Deci already feared they made a wrong decision and now dreaded to finish the job. Deci remained firm and pulled the lever, that would open the outer airlock door. What happened now, was too horrible for most of the crew's eyes and turned away from the horrid sight, but a few wanted to make sure they were right. They saw Gratitude's lungs collapse because of the vaccuum and saw blood gargling up from Gratitude's mouth, at the very same moment his legs were sucked away. Gratitude's screams of will be forever in the crew's dreams, I'm sure. Finally, Gratitude's pain was ended when his abdomen was torn apart, revealing nothing but intestins. No bodysnatcher was to be seen; nothing had nested in Gratitude's intestines; nothing had poisoned his mind. Welcoming death, Gratitude muttered "I told you I wasn't infected"....
