People in power will go as far as they are allowed to go and it is the voting system that decides. Its a power balance. The better the politician lie the more power they have, the smarter the people vote, the less. I was wondering how the system in Germany works. Can you vote a party as well as a person?

One of the major problems I see is how to get the money to the right people.
1.) How will you get the money to the right location?
2.) How will you know the people who subscribe actually exist?
3.) How will you know they don't have to transfer it to local mafia?
There WILL be bureaucracy whether you like it or not. When you have bureaucracy you need to spend a huge amount of money to control systems.

Companies don't fail, they got sold out. It has always been like that and its a good thing. Bad management means others take over.

@wfs:
Only thing obama has proved to do so far is spending an enormous amount of tax payers money to save the creators of the problems asses. Whether you are left or right you cannot deny what happened: Some people f.u. big time, were allowed to be greedy, helped creating a crisis, and then they got tax money thrown at them so they can do it again. Its a very dangerous state of affairs when a president get away with something like that. Its beyond believe. Its not about a few cents but an insane amount of money.

I'm very skeptical about the reform in health care. If he does it right, I will be the first to admit it, but till then I do not believe it will happen. Even if he tries, Its unsure if he has enough power and influence to make it happen.

Post in here the names you had- or remember you had- over time. I know it sounds like community but it is the political community in this case so if anywhere it belongs here. Else a lot of us won't see it.

Today people got "trialed". All of this happens in all honesty and fairness. Most people got an advocate in the first 12 hours they got busted. Also the fact different media get free access is a sign this process will be an example of correctness we can only dream about. No single complaint about torture. They all confessed because they suddenly saw the light. It was all a matter of education. Silly unresters! Luckily they won't get heavy punishment after their free stay in those luxury hotels those state prisons really are.

The riots started again during the "40-days-after" mourning of the deaths of 20/05. This returning of protest is probably the reason that the current regime could overthrow the previous one. Maybe it will not in this case but at least it shows that the antipathy of many Iranians against the current regime continues.

If it keeps going on like this maybe one day in the future resistance will be large enough to overthrown the current regime. Chances are small tough I'm afraid.

Maybe she should start a failed-women-running-for-president group together with Hillary. In any case, if she runs, it would mean Obama can screw up for another 4 years uncontested.

Your post where kinda long for not caring. tongue

"Anyway, who said 30 million votes were counted in one hour?"
if they did it in 12 hours it would still be twice as fast as last time. That is strange considering the huge amount of voters.
