Oh ok, so everyone in the fam gets e.g 6 points, for a Fam victory?

That part seems clear.

Then what about 'best attacker' and 'most dishonourable player'.  Those things are usually just populartity type votes.  Hard to measure.

I do kinda like the points for fam members though.  I imagine we could have some kind of account type stats, eg:

Total Points - Points for winning/second/third, Points for Finishing a Round
Total Rounds Completed -
Average Points for each Round - (a measure of how much you win or something?)
Total times Killed Off -

etc

We used to have something similar, once upon a time, i recall.

How would that work in practice, Orbit?  Ie, like a daily benchmark or something?  So snapshot once a day?

@FD, seems interesting.  But.... it's qualitative I imagine?  I mean,  how do you decide who gets what points?

Let's face it, it's not really a good measure of success in IC.

Just wanted to ask you guys, if you have a better method of either:
1) Changing the formula to represent something more relevant/significant, or;
2) Having a new measure.

Networth and Pcount will always be dominant, in my eyes.  NW is good indication of infra/fleet and at end of round, more often than not it is pcount as the winner (I say more often than not, cos those n00b fams that just farm for planets are not winners).

So yea ...potential ideas for #2 (but harder to implement immediately) are things like "Most fleet destroyed", "most $$ spent on infra" etc.  But, I think these are more longer term objectives.  I'd be willing to hear ideas on this though.

But mainly, I'd be interested to know if anyone has a better formula/idea on 'Score'.

Thoughts?

Hmm, I thought this was already the case?  I do see that someone is in vmode in Orion, so something is awry.  Will check (soonishly)!

How are they to know he's acting on his own?

If someone attacked me, I'd clear their attackers from all my systems, if I was able to do so.  Up until someone from the offending fam came to talk to me.

In lieu of recent events, we have decided it is not a good idea to link Player IDs with User IDs.  For this reason:

- "Imperial History" link on a player's page, is now not clickable for all users.

This is the first step.  The second step would be to make it clickable, for only those players who wish to not hide their History (through Preferences).  This has yet to be implemented, but will be done.

Thanks for your understanding!

Torqez it is indeed nice to play with different people, but also nice that if people joined midway through a round that you wanted to play with (or you just had a awful start etc) you do get another chance at it. It does mean there are 'super' fams a lot of the time nowadays, but back when we had a lot more players it was nice to build friendships over the period of two consecutive rounds.

Agreed, but playing with specific friends is reserved for drafting.  I mean, yea you can get lucky and play with friends, but you shouldn't expect it in PW.

I remember in MW, when reshuffles were every 3 rounds.  Then players who'd idle for 1-2 rounds, trying to random into their fam of choice.  Then by then they get into the fam they want + drafts, = crazy stupid superfam.

And a lot of people would do this (with all the strong fams), so it was very common to have a fam like this.

I think, the intention with reducing this, was so that people don't waste half the round trying to random into the fam you want to 'draft into'.  Rather, just random, and play outright fromt he beginning.  Stops the whole deleting and shifting and minimses (a bit) the 'super fam' affect.

"never really looked at attack reports to check but if i hit someone will some of my figs be destroyed by defending bombers ? "

No, bomber's don't have any Air Attack - so they won't kill figs.  The Ground Attack is a bit odd though - but yea, we all know that bombers only hit lasers, and not defending ground units.

"and again transports have a '5' defense rating ?  but they are described as:"

Perhaps the values are used to determine how many get killed.  Ie, if 1 fig attacks 200 transports or bombers, it's not going to kill all 200 transports or bombers.  Not sure how it works exactly, but I guess they factor into the Attack Formula.  Suppose the description should change to something like "Transports do not have much defenses, and shoud be protected by air units."

...pity I starved for 12 ticks last night, lol.

It's not that I forgot to build farms ...I just ...didn't remember I needed to save iron for building the farms, so could only build them once mfs were in -_-

You mean undefended?

Yes, because the DS won't kill anything vs 2 soldiers.

Tbh, I don't know why PW isn't shuffled every round anyway?  Why even have Stay in Fam in pw?

I thought you guys 'liked' the fact that you're playing with different people all the time?
