He had been all day in the hills west of Salem Valley, looking for doves and such small game as was in season. Late in the afternoon it had come on to be cloudy, and he had lost his bearings; and although he had only to go downhill, the absence of a trail and the sudden falling of night made it a tough walk down. Unable in the darkness to penetrate the thick bushes and undergrowth, utterly overcome with fatigue, he laid down near the root of a large oak tree. It was hours later, in the very middle of the night, that he heard a soft voice whispering his name.
Glueeeee.. Glueeeee
Glue sat upright and peered into the darkness looking around. "It's late already, I should head back'" he mumbled as he jumped up. At least that was what he thought he was doing, but his legs seemed to think otherwise. A strange sensation began slowly to take possession of his body and his mind. He could not have said which, if any, of his senses was affected but he knew for sure that his legs were now totally numb. "wtf is this" he screamed.
A sinister laughter arose from the darkness. "Oh Glue my boy, what are you doing alone in the woods. You feeling save there? well you shouldn't!"
Glue cursed and tried to see who did this to him, he placed his hands against the oak tree and tried to pull himself up but his arms denied their service to his will, his arms fell to his sides. Too lifeless and too powerless to move or cry out, he found himself staring into dark eyes of his assailant who was now hovering above him, smiling the darkest smile he had ever seen. The strange sensation was starting to take total control and it was not long until there was no more sight and no more life...

The phone rang from behind the bar. With a look, he dared anyone in the pub to answer it. On which he started to realise that he was completely alone in the pub. He shook his head as he bottomed his glass of brandy, "I should not drink so much" he thought as he yelled for the bartender. Meanwhile the phone had gone silent and he decided to return home. After pulling on his coat and yelling a farewell to the bartender in the back, he left the pub to face the inevitable cold journey home and headed to the subway.
He arrived on the platform just as the first people were already gathering, waiting for the first train for work. Today was no different than any other day. The noise, the odors, the people aroused no interest for Jets. His only concern was his nice and warm bed.
Behind him, on the stairs leading down from the street, Jets heard a commotion. Someone screamed. A man shouted, "He's got a gun!" As if in slow motion Jets turned as the hooded person raised the gun, pointing it at him. The man screamed something unintelligible before he fired his weapon. Jets saw the muzzle flash, felt the impact, and paused, stunned by disbelief then collapsed in a heap on the platform. From far away, as if down a tunnel, Jets heard voices, muffled, shouting. He could say the person running away in the commotion as darkness closed in.

The night has ended and with the loss of two innocent townies, the town is now confronted with the seriousness of their situation. The sun is rising and there are mobsters to be caught and a mayor to be elected.

For years, the family based crime organization known as the Mafia has been establishing itself in the foundation of the community. Until now, the naive citizens have been unaware of the evil among them. Tonight, however, the Mafia makes its move. Tonight, someone will die, and until the Mafia has eliminated all opposition, the innocent will continue to die. Unless, of course, the Mafia is destroyed first...
Lurking in the shadows is yet another threat to this little village. A crazed madman with a lust for blood has awakened and he wants blood. This lunatic will not stop killing unless he is cured or killed.

It's the first **** NIGHT **** phase!
Mafia, SK, medical team and cops have until 23:00 GMT on Sunday night to in game their decisions to Dr No - #2414 or post in the given topic on the mafia external forum
- The Medical Team is not the same as the old known doctor, but works a bit differently. Every night they find out who is going to be killed and they are presented with the oppertunity to save that person. That person will be protected from any possible attack by the mafia or serial killer. However, due to limited resources: they can only do this one time each.
my reason for point 1:
I felt that if I told you who was targeted, that the godfather and serial killer are then too easily discovered if they get attacked. It is more fun in my opinion to let the attacker use that information to his benefits.
*** Rule Clarifications ***
Since the mod team has made some minor errors in the past that were interpreted wrongly. I decided to make a few clear statements. I read up some things and in mafia the general rules say something in the sorts of this: What you reveal in the night story is an own choice.
I decided on this:
1. The person targeted is this round NOT told in the night story (given that no roles have the power to intervene with that)
2. I will not tell how the person is saved, by doctor or any other role with capable powers.
3. The medical team will only be told who the target is, IF that target is actually going to be killed. If other things stop the attack, then they are left in the dark. (i.e. godfather gets attacked)
4. The end of the nightphase and the story will now have 1 hour pause time. This is for story and the doctors to make a choice. If the doctors can't be online, then they can send me a shortlist with whom they grant to be saved in case of that happening. If one of their own is targeted and they don't make a choice. Then they automatically choose for themselves to be saved.

I stepped into the lift, which was small, claustrophobic and smelled really foul. "I have a bad feeling about this" I whispered out loud, waiting for the lift doors to slide shut. I clenched my fists and grinded my teeth together. What I really wanted to do was turn around, head back to the train halt and catch the first speedy train back to Imperial City.
The security door had been wedged open with a brick and I slipped through and walked along the landing. Most of the flats are boarded up and you wondered if the flats had been condemned because no one seemed to live here any longer, or at least that's the way it appeared since I didn't see any single living soul.
I approached the door and I knocked, but when no one answered, I crouched low and peered through the letterbox.
"Hello", I said and my voice echoed down the passage.
No one answered back and I stood there, staring through the letterbox, feeling anxious, and then I looked up to check the number again, "it was number 9, wasn't it" I mumbled out loud.
"Hello", I repeated, this time a bit louder.
I heared a noise and then a soft and throaty voice came back at me
"That you Lieutenant?"
"I could use some help, I don't know how much longer I can hold on", the voice said.
Using a large log, which I had seen earlier I breached the door. I entered the passage. The smell of gunpowder and blood came directly at me as I strode through the passage. I entered the room on the far left of the passage and saw a young man lying on the ground, covered in blood.
"What happened" I asked.
"I got shot", he said and stared at me with a sad smile as he tried not to scream out in pain.
"Tell me who did this, I want to help! What happened here???"
The man looked up at me and with his hoarsely voice squeezed out "It has returned..."
He coughed up blood and with his final breath he whispered,
"It has returned.. IC Mafia 20"

As usual, the following are the list of characters. These will be allocated to players who sign up randomly using a total cool new random function!

Additional role - The Mayor.
Only the godfather and mafia will know who the other mobsters are. Everyone else will be in the dark.
NIGHT PHASE - WHO DOES WHAT?
Each phase of the game begins with the night. The following can happen during this time:
- Before the end of the first night, the mafia must elect their godfather. The godfather is the leader of the mafia. He, together with the other mobsters, will decide on person to kill each night. He will also choose one of them to conduct the kill. The godfather has the final say in any mafia night decision. He will also appear to be innocent to the Police squad's investigations and is immune to being killed at night.
- The serial killer is a madman who kills one person every night. Like the Godfather, he is immune to being killed/cured at night and will only die if lynched.
- The Police squad has the power to investigate one town resident per night. By daytime, he will discover this person's role. He can do what he likes with this information but revealing it might reveal his identity.
- The Medical Team is not the same as the old known doctor, but works a bit differently. Every night they find out who is going to be killed and they are presented with the oppertunity to save that person. That person will be protected from any possible attack by the mafia or serial killer. However, due to limited resources: they can only do this one time each.
- The love doctor decides at the start of the game which two players are going to be lovers. These two lovers are so in love that they share the same fate. Might one die, the other will commit suicide. The love doctor is allowed to choose himself to be part of the love connection. Obviously they will know who their lover is, but won't know their lover's role. (This love connection can be a connection between any two kinds of roles)
- The Mayor is an additional role, which means it is on top of your given role. The mayor has two votes in every lynching and is elected by the town on day 1. Upon death, the mayor chooses his or her predecessor.
DAY PHASE - LYNCHING
During the day phase, everyone in the town will find out who has been murdered. All townsfolk (including the mafia, the serial killer, the Medical Team, the Police squad and special roles) can then vote who they think are mobsters. This is the lynching process. There will be a deadline to which the people must vote by. If there is a draw, the deadline will be extended and only those drawing will be voted on. If there is still a draw by the new deadline, there will be no lynching. Once the result is in, the person will then be dead and their role will be revealed. Then that round is over and night begins again when the night roles make their next choices.
WHO WINS?
The godfather and his mafia will win if they manage to kill everyone else off. The serial killer wins if he is the last person alive and the rest win if they manage to kill off all the mafia and kill the serial killer.
Everyone is allowed to post in the thread to discuss who they think is infected or try to make themselves less suspicious (if they are mafia!). You may NOT quote any part of messages sent by the game moderators. Doing so will result in your sudden death. Also, when you die you are dead and are no longer part of the game, you are not allowed to discuss the game with anyone.
