_Last night I slept on what looked like a rib curving out from and then back into the wall, stretching a thin layer of... skin out with it. A bit like a small trampoline. It was a good night, the hammock thing is slightly warm. The ship is going to show me what it eats today, which has made so nervous I have not eaten anything yet. I can't help but think it'll make me sick.

_The ship likes meat.
  All meat.
It's just had a mad feeding frenzy in a forest on a very young volcanic planet. Try to imagine a shark that can fly, a shark that can turn almost instantly, a shark that could scream past and concuss you with one sonic boom or splatter you with lots of them, a shark that could cut you up with a burning red beam that almost incinerates the air itself, a shark that could impale you with a mouthpart or simply suck you up.
There was this one animal, a huge dragonfly with great blue eyes and wings, that almost got away. The damn thing whizzed through the trees, zig-zagging crazily and looping almost instantly, and as the ship gave chase, causing me to be pressed hard back into the seat, I heard a strange slow crunching sound during one nasty turn that I hope came from the ship. The dragonfly actually stopped, hovered for a second as we took that turn; I think it was watching.

_Two days to Nephren-Ka, this thing is fast!

The Yell is spot on: Red Tape is something we use to tie you up so we can get to the task unmolested.

The Yell is not: 70% of us in the UK enjoy Russian gas, oil and some electricity without direct pielines. Georgia still has gas, oil, and electricity, and they will continue to have it even if the Russians decide to secure the whole country aggressively. To cut them off would be inhumane (no irony intended: remember the mindset you're dealing with, these aren't mere Nationalists).

i think you re actually underestimiating how many ppl would smile
as said before, they re pretty proud and nationalistic in general<

*applause*

It is also worth remembering that Kashmir has brought Pakistan and India to the brink of all-out nuclear war at least twice to my mind, and very recently too.

But Im less concerned about his resignation and more so about who will succeed him. I don't know much about Pakistani politics, but have any names come up yet? I wonder if they will get the liberal, anti US President that their parliament wants. And if that were to happen, is it likely that the military will stage a Coup and get one of their own back on top?<

Who gets in will depend entirely on wo can play the election game the best.
The likelyhood of a miliary coup? Too likely for me to want to think about.

I would imagine it to be the bad economy, and the shortage of electricity...Even pakistan's high populated urban areas spend more time without electricity and less time with electricity

Kashmir probably is at the bottom of the list right now<

Never underestimate the stupidity of voters.
In reality you are correct in that Kashmir is a minor problem, a small issue, but in reality making promises about Kashmir brings in idiot voters by the thousands.... I'd use an analogy but I can't be arsed, I'm too tired.

Exactly. Or, to give it an historical spin:

He's saying [Germany] was attackign [Poland] so needed to be conquered by [American] tanks.

[EDIT]

Worth pointing out that Russia could be self-sufficient food-wise IF the Ukraine (formerly known was the breadbasket of the USSR) became part of the federation.

People have the need for sex, denying that is going against your nature and causes a lot of frustration, but that doesn't mean you have to get a baby from it. It's simply not possible to only have reproductive sex. If that's really what you think: good luck lad, you're trying something what never worked throughout the entire history of mankind!

Based on that "logic" people also have the need for murder.<

Murder is not a normal biological drive, we are not normally driven to pointlessly kill each other, we are normally biologically driven to hold each other down and [fornicate] each other in the ass.
You could try this argument again using hunting for meat, but then again we are Omnivorous so in that respect our only "need" would be to eat what is available which preowns your next argument I believe tongue

No. The Pakistani people will vote for whoever they think will solve the Kashmir problem (and by solve I of course mean take).

>He will turn a blind eye to US infiltration into the region.<

Unless the next president has to win votes by promising to oust the foreign infidels.

>Bush will get Osama before he leaves office.....<

AAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ahem, sorry, terribly rude of me. Haven't we already heard this, something about capturing Osama Bin Laden by Christmas/Easter?

>That will Solidify his Legacy as a GREAT president with the foresight to take on the Wahabists and Radical Islam.<

Like how giving America a budget surplus created a Great President Legacy for Clinton? He'll be remembered forever as a warmongering chimp and we all know it.

>Amazing how REAGAN is now worshiped.  Even by the likes of Obama.
Yet, when he was in power.....Reagan was:

A dummy.
the least educated President.
A dolt
A Cowboy.
A warmonger.

Hmmm....sounds familiar.<

Sounds familiar? That is probably because people still call Reagan all of those things.

No speculation in my house. Let me use this to help you gain an insight into the Russian mind: It is never the poison that kills you, it is your heart stopping that kills you. See?

> Little Paul wrote:

"And such a war would require Russia to protect her citizens from Ukranian aggression within its own borders..."
the cost of such a war would be much higher then the gains. Not like in georgia were europes energy insurance and hence russians power to blackmail europe hangs in the balance for a fairly easy military intervention.

I agree however its a longterm possibility we have to take into account. Also for other countries there.<

The cost would be large, yes, but the strategic gains of holding Ukraine would be enought to allay any paranoia concerning the American missiles in [I can't spell it, sorry].

1) There was no insult in my post
2) Even if there was an insult in my post he should have edited that and that only.

>"goluboj" literally means light-blue but when talking about men it means "gay"<

Given that I refer to myself as Red I think it is safe to assume that I was not using the term in it's archaic insulting form. Although I will admit that I specifically chose Light Blue over Dark Blue for a reason.

[EDIT]

>If a Ukrainian speeks like this, what do the Russians think?<

Half think Putin is god and his word should be followed immediately and exactly even if they don't understand why their great economic saviour wants them to stand on the steps of a foreign embassy and harrass the staff (Aren't chavs great?).

The other half, the ones who actually follow politics and world events and weren't breastfed fluroide, are seeing the prick who surfed to political godhood on the economic wave created by Boris Yeltsin starting to confirm their worst fears.

I have not, such behaviour is cheap, tacky, and, in my opinion, cowardly.

Fair enough, can not argue with that.
