"If anyone here paid attention besides me, last year the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) ruled Carbon Dioxide a pollutant."

How wrong you are. They didn't consider it to be pollutant, but they considered that it's a major contributor to global climate change. There's a difference.

"40% of TEA Party types are.... Democrats or independants."

And what's the division of democrats and independants in that 40%?
And the vast majority is still republican though, 60%! tongue

It's an empty fact..

All I'm saying is this:

You give 2 facts and deduct that, while there might be a thousand other factors involved..

"Murder dropped to 75% last year, of the norm in Washington DC."
"Also noteworthy is that after the gun ban was made gun crimes skyrocketed in DC."
and
"I would specify that removing the ban was good policy and has once again resulted in verifiable results."

Correlation doesn't equal causation, but there's something to say for it.
A thorough research should be made to confirm this thesis, as the numbers on its own don't say anything. There can be all sorts of factors involved that are not clear now. Perhaps the police just did a better job this year..
What must be considered is what factors are involved in "murders" and "gun crimes". After all, I think we can agree that one of the largest factor contributing to crimerates are of a social and/or economic nature, wich is totally ignored at this time.

It needs a total overhaul, but apparently, Republicans are voting against every change on that end.

DPS, a full grown tree holds more water and absorbs a lot more carbondioxide than a sapling. This is exactly why an old tree has some value. In most cases, more than the timber you can get out of it. And that justifies it to be saved, till a certain amount of money is reached, of course.

What? I was merely posting a joke following Ilu..
your claim it's an emotional attack is just ludicrous!
Also I'm no mod, and never was.

if you want the translation:
"Hi Coco"
"Hi, buttman"
"Ehm, I think a parrot just crawled up your ass"
"He rents it"

As you can see, the joke's pure nonsense, not even offensive. It wasn't meant as an insult....

They might have done that already if the fallout wouldn't affect their own..

"I wish Israel would pass a Constitutional (for them) level law saying per missile we will permanently hold 50 acres previously intended for the Palestinians."

And the award for stupidest comment goes to Flint!

Read some of Khaled Diab's articles about the matter on The Guardian's site. As a Brittish-Belgian Egyptian he's quite good at shunning bigotry. Although he's a bit hopeful sometimes..

I agree on not seeing any superhero movies anymore. They're all total crap (apart from those batman movies, perhaps), and they made so many of them M&M's start to look rare.
But there's a world besides politics too! You're american, you shouldn't be bothered with ideals. You're expected to consume! To watch movies! To cram yourselfs with chips, coke and when you want a false sense of healthiness: bud light!  You're expected to be patriotic to a slapstick-ish degree, bigotted and condensending to the rest of the world! And when you vote, you're not expected to think rationally, you vote for the party your entire family votes for and follow the party's line like religion!
