If people can't afford to pay for health care, the employers are to offer health care services.  My employer has done this since before I started working on my current job over a decade ago.  Granted the "costs" kept increasing every single year, which I really didn't understand.<<

It's really simple. The noted economist W.C.Fields expressed it best nearly 100 years ago: "Never give a sucker an even break".

Your boss, or the government, is gonna pay the bill, right? Then they're a sap.  So jack the rates every year, just because, and let them worry how it gets paid for.

>>It needs a total overhaul, but apparently, Republicans are voting against every change on that end.<<

It does not need a total overhaul.  This is a federal republic where most TREATMENT is organized at the COUNTY LEVEL.  Even Obamacare has nothing to do with treatment-- it even makes it harder to open new hospitals-- and just goes on and on and on and on and on about who pays for it.  The waste involved in robbing Peter to pay Paul through the Federal Government is so vast that most industrialized nations' GDP would get lost in the abyss.

goddamit wtf is the US gubmint fighting pandemics FOR?

a virus that killed 2/3 of every nation would leave 100 million Americans in America staring down 400 million chinese

but those chinese would be surrounded by 800 million corpses and that wouldn't end well for them

2010 Federal Health and Human Services dept spent $816.198 billion
http://www.hhs.gov/asrt/ob/docbudget/2010budgetinbrief.pdf

2009 total national budget of Spain : $536.3 billion
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sp.html

and in 2010 HHS spent $879 billion, a one-year increase of $70 billion
and that is without a national health plan

we do have Social Security Disability for the disabled, Medicare for the poor and elderly
so that's maybe 120 million out of 308 million

and then there's 50 state medical budgets, adn about 1500 county medical budgets...most "government" hospitals are county facilities

usual statistic thrown around is that one-sixth of our $14,000 billion economy is spent on healthcare by somebody or other.

we don't want to end up like england

>>Thinking about tomorrow still seems to worry the conservative americans.

The health care plan isn't just to work immediately, it has to be put in place and many companies who made "wrong" choices in the past will pay the consequences.<<

It won't ever "work".

ah the interwebss

in all previous generations if an American wanted to be an asshole to Europeans it usually cost so much we didn't bother

but now, it's easier than doing real work

you must have a weird culture over there if you show a person a cartoon of a man taking a bird in his asshole, and saying "you are the man with a bird in his asshole" and it doesn't indicate some sort of insult.

>>put me in america. and let me make that sum: 1000 or 4.5k euro's a year. what can I buy of off that.
sure I could go blind, I could end up in hospital. but I haven't so far. I can go without the meds for a while longer.<<

you said you use a box of 5 caplets every 20 days, and they're 53 euro each.
If each box is 53 euro that's 953 euro a year for your meds.
if each caplet is 53 euro that's 4470 euro a year for your meds.
Which is it? And why can't you earn enough for those meds?

Gluttony is one of the classic deadly sins, it is fixation on pleasure to the exclusion of spiritual needs. It is punished here on earth with boredom and exhaustion as well as by damnation in the afterlife. If you ever wasted an hour arguing where to go eat then you see what I mean.

It is reported that Huratee calculated that the Antichrist had appeared on earth, in the person of NATO chairman Javier Solana o.O

Um dunno whether that is 53 euro a capsule or 53 euro a box, but that is either 953 euro/yr or 4470 euro/yr.

Why shouldn't you spend 4470 euro/yr for your own medicine and totally solve the problem?  Why tax everybody whether they get any medicine or not?

in America if you sleep with a gal jsut once and she gets pregnant then you owe her---er, the kid, haha, IT GOES TO THE KID, we tell you taht with a straight face, mom just gets the check-- a fat percentage of your income for 18 years.  just to put having diabetes in perspective, at least no bitch is going to go party with your money or put your ass in jail
