skoe, what is the issue of necessity of a puppet leadership, can you please explain?

Grushdeva, the assignment is to tell a speech in front of the class on a relevant topic (not necessarily law related), and to take a side in it. This will be followed by a discussion of the class. I don't want millions of subjects, I just want to know what everyone thinks are the more intriguing issues nowadays. smile

Hmm. Gosh, means I know little about today's world then. neutral I don't know anything at all about this issue.

Who wants arms in space?
If it's Russia and anyone takes her side, rotten tomatoes are likely to start flying tongue
If it's USA, then it's likely to have something to do with the war on terror. Maybe the discussion wouldn't turn out too bad, but terrorism isn't a real topicality here.
Or is it someone else?

Something about space would be original, but it would hardly fit the "persuasive speech" bit I guess smile The space dominance one is interesting, but it would probably turn out to be stargazing rather than a discussion.

Zarf, some of those are really interesting!
Especially free trade and UN legitimacy. Perhaps you (or anyone) have some articles that you could highlight about these topics?

The ICC was talked about in class. Though not at all in detail and though it wouldn't be boring, but I think there are more intriguing topics.
And the last three I wouldn't talk about, I think they'd turn out to a one-sided discussion in my class.

I have an assignment to make a persuasive speech in front of the class in uni. I can't make up my mind what topic should I talk about, so maybe someone can make some suggestions?

Some info:
I'm a first year law student
Topic is free to choose, can be anything

I would like to talk about either a world-wide or eu-related issue.
I would like the topic to require little detailed knowledge. Best if it was possible to examine it using one's own reasoning for the most part. But that's not a strict requirement.
I wouldn't like to talk about anything related to religion. Unless it's a really, really interesting topic.

I wasn't planning on making this thread, I was going to browse this forum and choose the topic myself. Alas, everything vanished before I did sad
