"apparently the' EU charter requires tolerance of' foriegners rioting against police"

No, it requires that you dont use the actions of some members of a particular race/ culture to discriminate against everyone of that race/culture.

I suppose thats a strange concept to some right wingnuts?

Avo is right I think.

but in any case the whole argument is a nonsense. "Ideology" is not much more than a worldview, a way of looking at things, I dont see how you can be conscious and not have an ideology.

"Politics is, and always will be, about power. Those with power oppress those without it, so get used to it"

The first part of that statement is undeniable fact, the powerful have and will always aim to get maximum profits out of of the oppressed by any means available; war conquests, slavery, serfdom or as employers.

But the conclusion "so get used to it" is just stupid. The whole of human history has been a struggle between the two sides; the powerful have their own ideologies about how society/ the world should be run to allow them to take the maximum share of wealth from the oppressed. The oppressed should naturally tend towards an opposite ideology where they fight to keep as much of their wealth for themselves.

Should the garment workers of India just get used to being paid

"A cave man need not worry himself here, as the T Rex is probably to close for such a complex worry"

Did you study history with Palin tongue

"Cave man " & dinosoaurs did not co-exist, they were many, many ,many miliions of years apart

The last dinosaurs died out about 65 million years ago. The earliest "human-like" ancesters (e.g cavemen or nenderthals) were about 6 million years ago. They did NOT overlap.

Btw "neanderthal man" was around for far longer than modern humans have been- so its a bit early to say weve done better than them or that we are better at surviving.

Also :
Volcanoes emit around 100,000,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
man-made emissions of CO2 =approx 10,000,000,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
So volcanoes emit around 1/100th of CO2 that we do.

"worst

ever."

Agree but for differenet reasons- Holland should not have finished the first half with 11 men on the pitch, the two footed chest high tackle was one of the clearest red cards ive ever seen.

Webb was far too reluctant to hand out reds, if he had shown a red earlier it might have been a better game, only one team wanted to play football  ( it wasnt holland )

@ Flint/Einstein : Why would anyone bother trying to argue with you.

Ive seen you demolished in argument many times (I've done it myself)

Your typical response when your arguments are crushed is to spam the thread with multiple cut and paste posts so the offending post gets hidden; then to spam the forum with multiple new threads in order to make the thread where you get crushed disappear off the page.

It would be generous to call you borderline insane.

How about a pre-emptive strike on USA- the only country that has ever actually used nuclear weapons. and full of lunatics who are itching to use them again.

I think the world would be more likely to support that
