"3. how well can business do with no customers? 200milion people with an average income is far better than 200million people with a low income. business would fair alot more when people can afford to buy things"

assuming a free market, business's providing their employees with middleclass incomes would outperform businesses that paid their employees less eventually making the former the norm because their employees would have a higher income and would have a loyalty to at the very least their business if not businesses in general that pay their employees well...

"where is the imaginary line that defines the actions of a business to be in the best interest of the people and when the business begin to "not care"???"

the difference between the two is the difference between a rising and a failing company... and its not like republicans are against any regulation of business...

"dont forget the efficiency of business can be dangerous too... once a business gains too much momentum and eventually maintains extreme wealth, they tend to begin to make decisions based on the best interest of the company rather that the people. (banks, aig, wachovia etc)"

its more true with government.... and your example is a perfect example of that, because banks are one of the most heavily regulated business by governments across the world... the failing auto-industry is another extremely heavily regulated business too... you look at where the growth is, in alot of these internet companies and its because they have very little if any government regulation..

it cannot be for the simple reason that you think you know of multiple people confirming something by your single point of view...

The answer that is most commonly given to this question is "My parents raised me to be a Catholic, so I'm a Catholic".  Ok, so that means these people are Catholics because of the social implications involved.  If they don't believe this, then they may be disowned, ridiculed, and so on ...  This then begs the question, Why did your parents choose Catholicism?  Then again with the answer of that's how they were raised and this cycle repeats until we down to the real answer.  The reason that people who were raised as Catholics are Catholics is because of where their ancestors were born.  They are letting something as arbitrary as the birthplace of someone hundreds, if not thousand of years dead decide the final resting place of their soul.  Some people will take this as "I'm trying to remain close to my ancestors with strong family traditions".  Well, some of those ansestors were forced to religion as the social implications then were far more dangerous then the ones we face now.  And there is lies the question; Why do you Believe?  What makes your religion work for you?

I don't want an answer to this question for my own sake, I just want people to look at the decisions they've made and be happy with them, they are in fact your decisions.  If there is a God, he gave us free will for a reason.  The free will to choose to love God.  When you die and you go to that eternal bliss that I hope you achieve and you are before whatever God you believe in, if he asks you "Why do YOU love me?", "Because my Mom told me too" seems like a pretty incomplete answer.

you said yourself, there isnt much difference between most of the modern religions, why does it matter why they chose that particular religion. you could take that same line of reasoning for science. everything you or i believe is because of society. the difference between us and cavemen is whats been passed down from our ancestors..

"  Pray-tell, what is the reason?"

there isnt a single reason...  the quote you gave was simply pointing out that the difference between an atheists and  christians is not "intelligence, IQ, education, or ability to think for yourself"

"The purpose of this thread was for one person to answer the question in the original post, and that person has repeatedly avoided answering this simple question by:"

why was a new thread required for that? if that is the sole purpose of this thread, to take a fraction of one of my sentences out of context, quote it, and ask me some bs question, then you could/should of done it in the same thread... but no, you were decided cryptic, it took you nearly a month after the OP to say what you wanted me to do... i had a valid question, you took a quote from me and asked the question, you did not clearly address the question clearly towards me so i asked if it was directed at me and you didnt answer and its taking you this long to finally answer it because you were caught arguing in circles and want to change focus of the thread...

oh, for the record, the demacrats are not "socialist", as they are portrayed by the elephants.  they believe in "Bottom-up" economy. which is confused with socialism, because they want the larger percentage of the population to be wealthy instead of a handfull of super rich. 200million middle class people would generate far better tax revenue that 100million broke ass welfare recipients!"

how do the democrats try to make the majority wealthy? they dont. the government cant employ everyone; they need to rely on businesses to hire people; what they do is they get their hands on the most money they can possibly justify, then they stuff a ton of it in their pockets, and then they give little small, shot sighted gains to the masses to justify the raise in government spending. Republicans see that the competition between business provides motivation to boost efficiency that no government could match, so they see that companies competing with each other is going to create the most revenue for the largest amount of people with the least amount of wealth...  Republicans dont beleive in achieving equal wealth throughout the population... they beleive in encouraging the creation of wealth, democrats beleive in controlling wealth...

well, when you think about it... in the US, theres something like 2.3 million people in jail at any one time...  and then 250 people innocent people in the span of decades... its really a tiny, tiny fraction... in reality i would be surprised if less then a full one percent of the people convicted of felonies were innocent, 2.3 million in jail, so i would be surprised if there was less then 23,000 innocent people in jail in the US at this very moment, let alone over the span of decades...

no security system is flawless, even the extreme one you listed.

Past 20 years shows that the ones that blow up planes are always Middle Eastern dirka dirkas. Therefore, for the safety of the majority (white, black, asian, latino) people, ban all middle eastern people from planes till they can get their kind in line. Stop blowing shit up, no one likes that faggotry.

wasnt this guy black?

yeah, discriminate against millions just to have terrorists spend an extra $50 and dress up their terrorists...

i am an excellent reader,  chris was probably using sarcasm to express his opinion against the added security on airplanes and if you are against added security, you cant expect terrorist attacks to be stopped by means that have proved insufficient multiple times, so opposing added security is pushing to acceptance in the occasional terrorist attack on planes...

are you inferring that the occasional suicide bomber should just be something that we learn to accept?

no, you pretty clearly singled out religious people....

"in my opinion christianity is the worst behaved organized religion ever..."

why is that? purely the crusades and inquisition?

"instead of stating that i never trust wikipedia, i should have said that i dont trust any religious information, and yes my arguement is due to lack of evidence. "

i presented evidence from secular sources... and as i said, there is more evidence that Jesus existed then there is that Alexander the Great existed. yes, we dont know for sure that everything in history is true, for all we know, the earth was formed 50 years ago and all evidence of the past was fabricated...

"our species history has alot to be ashamed of, and frankly i find it funny that many people dont trust the news and yet, trust information that has been handed from generation to generation and even perhaps modified to serve purpose to power."

the difference between cavemen and modern human society is what was handed down from us by our ancestor's; if you want to reject that, i suggest you go move to a cave, scavenge the corps of dead animals and eat their meat raw...

"all of your citings and website will not make a difference, because i can do the same thing with evolution and avogado will just say the evidence was fabricated to serve the purpose of making evolution true."

i would never say that... you think you're smart and you understand people but you just make really stupid generalizations about what people must be like and you only show your own close-mindedness and stupidity...

"besides, dont you think IF jesus ever exsisted, the telephone theory may have made the story more incredable every time it was told? dont you think there is a possability that if we when into a time machine, the man the story was reference to, was just a man? place on a pedistel for the purpose of organized religion?"

all the books of the new testament were written within a lifetime from the death of Jesus. the Story of Jesus was not passed via oral tradition...   i dont think theres a respectable possibility that he was just some random person, i think he made an impression on people, and whether he was the Son of God or just a man is open to faith...  you see secular sources in the first and 2nd century talking about Jesus and followers of Jesus, and its pretty clear that Jesus wasnt some random guy and wasnt an invention of some church, but was a real man that many people during his time considered to be at the very least God-like...

"i'm not knocking your beliefs dude, i'm simply stating mine."

you are saying that you beleive that religiose people are dishonest and untrustworthy, and i would consider that knocking on me and many, many other people...

I'll find another source when I get back home.  But go to the cited sources within the Wikipedia page.  There you go.

i already got a pretty decent non-wiki source in an above post....

"my opinion is based on the FACT that all so called "evidence" of jesus is provided by religion only."

all evidence of jesus's existence is not provided by religion alone... http://www.agapebiblestudy.com/documents/Historical%20evidence%20on%20the%20exhistance%20of%20Jesus.htm

also, why does a written account all of a sudden become invalid if it isnt secular?

and as i already pointed out, your opinion contradicts historical facts...

i think we are both guilty of this.

"what does the fact that its your personal opinion have to do with how idiotic a thing it is to beleive?"

because by stating that its my personal opinion, i allows readers to say, "okay, that his opinion, and its not to be consider true unless proof is given". And your opinion is that jesus did existed, yet you give no proof either, but for some reason, you would consider me wrong if i consider your opinion to be an idiotic belief, but we are really just two different people with two different opinions and neither of us should be considered true until proof is given.

how am i milking the fact that christmas is based of a pagan holiday for the winter solstice?

well, theres more evidence of the existence of Jesus, then there is the existence of Alexander the Great... it might be your opinion that jesus doesnt exist, but without evidence to support your claim, you just appear to be an idiot...

just because Jesus has nothing to do with the earliest form of the holiday doesnt mean he has nothing to with the Holiday...  yes... Christmas's origins is the winter solstice, its a fact children learn when they're like 5, i think you're milking the fact for way more then it should be...

it is my personal opinion that jesus never existed, he was simply the human personification of god created by the christians just as the persians created mithra and the egyptians created horus and seth..."

the christians originated from Judasism... and the Jews split between those that believed Jesus the son of God and those that dont; even the Jews that dont consider him the son of God typically consider him a prophet...  so you're claiming Jews personified God and fractured their religion over whether their personification of God was the son of Gad or just a prophet?

550

they died on their own because there was a climate change and food in the wooded areas became scarce, they needed to hunt on the open plains,  but the neanderthals were quite bad at that.
